🕑 Added 2016-12-26 15:17:17 +0000 UTC Hope everyone had a festive holiday!Yessss! I had some trouble getting the new rigging technique to work for a day or so. Thanks to some help from a brilliant friend, I have got it working perfectly now! See the attached sample. What you see is Yumi's back sliding over the surface of her ribcage. Before when things stretched like this it would do so in a straight line, making things flat. But now it's gonna look much more organic. This is also the key to shrink-wrapping skin over actual muscle models for a future character. So... There was a delay but it's good news from every angle. :)
In other news... I have decided to do another Patreon charge on Jan 1st for Naomi's 3rd animation, but then NOT charge anything on Feb 1st. I'm making enough where I think I can squeeze out two months of (lean) living off of what I make this month. This way I can get caught up.
For those of you who donated for the stereoscopic version of last month's animation (Yumi Grows More), I've been happily rendering all this time during off-hours.. Secure in my mind that everything was fine. Then, when the animation was almost done I realized her skirt data was missing! I think it got lost in the hard drive crash. What a pisser. So I have re-simmed the cloth and am re-rendering. Some frames where the skirt is not shown can be kept so it's not a total do-over... But there will be additional delay. Sorry about that. :/
Anyway... I am now applying Yumi's final skin animation based on all of this meta data. I'm super excited about how much of an improvement this animation will have with this new rigging method. More to come.. Stay tooned! :)

Interesting result. The muscle follows the ribcage nicely.
