Long time reader[*], first time supporter. Love your writing! And I'm really glad to see you're taking a break every month. Your chapters are *really long* (this is a good, and also impressive, thing), and I imagine that writing them is very much a full-time job. It's good that you are regularly taking time to recover, and not burn yourself out. [*] Okay, fine -- I binge-read it non-stop over the last couple of days. 😀

Mmmm. I think that depends entirely on how interesting they can make the "Dark Lord and Hero gang up to overthrow corrupt governments and rule the world!" storyline. It's not like the two goddesses have anything on the line, or like they particularly care which one wins (they've already shown they're perfectly happy to have heroes keep on dying until they take out the Dark Lord). If they're smart, they will keep doing enough high-drama things to keep the goddesses interested, while focusing their actual efforts on revolutionary change. You know, pretend rivalries between them, maybe have them come into conflict over who gets to add a particular monster girl to their harem, lively blame each other for plans that go awry, and so on. Call it cosmic kayfabe -- it doesn't even matter if the goddesses believe the drama is real, as long as it is sufficiently entertaining to them! It's entirely possible that the goddesses have never seen the Hero and the Dark Lord team up before. It's fairly unlikely, in multiple of ways. And if it truly is a novel outcome, the goddesses are absolutely going to want to watch it to the end, to see where it goes.

See, I think they'd be fine with it. Virya said that the whole thing was basically just for entertainment for them, so the two teaming up might be a fun change of pace. Especially if their team-up leads to an eventual stand off with stereotypical "I thought we were friends!" dialogue.

Webb, we're not gonna begrudge next Friday's chapter being part of your break just because that's where July happens to land. I know you've already committed now, but a week's break is 2 updates. Something to keep in mind in future. Enjoy your rest, and thanks for today's chapter!

Woo! So glad that Yoshi followed that train of thought!

Glad to see you taking a break! Also hope for more significant male friends for both even if it’s in protest of the harem thing

>Be Yoshi, try to sensibly grieve the death of my best friend in the world >This madman that i'm supposed to beat in a duel or some shit is here, swears my dead best friend probably wasn't in the way of my godess-approved harem >Just try to talk about my feelings >He starts ranting about how his goddess told him it's just a game and gave him the power to enslave monster girls > ಠ__ಠ

It seems like the cat is already out of the bag about Seiji being the Dark Lord and to a lesser extent, Yoshi being the Hero. Goblins know and goblins are information brokers and not all are on their side. So why bother too much about the Japanese thing now.

I think the goddess will be okay with the two teaming up in the short term, but I think they will be forced apart by the goddess just what happened with the husband and wife when they became dark lord and hero. They were initially together but then were split apart.

Wow this is one of my favorite chapters you have written. It has been a long time coming, learning more about yoshi. Also we got to see both of them get a bit more perspective.

I’m just waiting for the other shoe to drop. There’s no way the goddesses will let their two chosen characters team up like this long term, which means they either plan to a. Pit them against each other somehow or b. Ice one of them and bring in a new more easily manipulated player.

I've really been enjoying these chapters with Yoshi and the hero party. Top quality stuff.

Too Much Sanity May Be Madness

That firmly puts the kibosh on my idea from last chapter that Yoshi wants to try reforming the system rather than letting Seiji overthrow it: he has good reason to not be anywhere near the system, because the power balance at this point of the story is exactly what the opposite of what I supposed it to be. Also: poor Yoshi. He wasn't careful enough what he wished for, and now it's cost him his family and a friend. I sincerely hope that by the end of the story, he feels that what he received by being isekai'd was worth the entirety of the price: past, present, and future.
