Hurrah for revolution, and more cannon-shot! A beggar upon horseback lashes a beggar on foot. Hurrah for revolution, and cannon come again! The beggars have changed places, but the lash goes on. -- W. B. Yeats, "The Great Day"

This is where revolutions have historically failed, on that solutions part. They just end up imposing their own form of tyranny

"Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all just hold hand and sing songs and agree to live together in peace?" I cant help but think that this idea is very much possible, its basically the eurovision song contest

personally, tallboy reminds me of beer... I'm not an alcoholic, swearsies.

Also neat is that it acknowledges that system is so busted just going "aha! He did a crime" no longer gets the rich punished, and they are very willing to go the extra mile on addressing that personally XD

I have and it is wonderful 🥰 it is clearly a labor of love and carries forward the spirit of the first, with natural development of the characters.

Argh, that's literally the only word in this entire novel so far that I absolutely hate because every time someone says it, I think of that goddamn nuke.

Beautifully written dialogue. Zui filling out her application for for the Goblin harem spot more and more.

Too Much Sanity May Be Madness

Have you seen the sequel series (Leverage: Redemption)? I haven't, yet, as I'm waiting for it to come out on physical media, but I hear it's still very good.

Good stuff. I am now wondering if ‘tallboy’ could be considered the inverse of ‘shortstack’….

All the problems bearing down on us are caused by powerful people, on purpose, for their own benefit. And nothing is going to get better until some people fucking die... ...Just don’t kid yourself that getting the bastards out of the way is the solution to anything. That just clears space for the solutions to start. Wow, yeah, now that you mention it I can definitely see the difference in mindset between the gods are bastards and the dark lord. But honestly? Mood. Big mood. I always have to remind myself about the second part though, it's too easy to forget. But you know, I was talking about the themes of this story with my wife and she made a recommendation for you; if you haven't seen Leverage, you should definitely try it. A heist show with the premise of criminals helping those who have been failed by the system, and taking down the rich and powerful. Most of the episodes are based on real situations, and the show always results in the powerful getting their comeuppance and their victims getting help. That thing kept me sane through the worst of the pandemic.
