There are a lot of female characters certainly, but id disagree that all the male ones are dying. Harold and kasser have had comparable development to a lot of the female cast, and youda looks like he will be really interesting. The Oathkeepers too

Narf

All alive? I think Kastrin would object to that. If she could. And she was most definitely part of Seiji's core team at the time.

Relai

I think it is more of a point of interest how all of the male characters of importance are dying. We have so far seen 3 significantly important male characters die while all of the female characters that are part of the hero/ dark lord party and are of importance are all alive.

Pagrek

Honestly, I think her POV chapter showed she understood Seiji decently well. I think the whole slave thing was her making an offer she knew he wouldn’t accept, which also demonstrated her supposed willingness to follow him.

Narf

Huh, that worked out nearly exactly as I hoped / expected. Not sure if Sneppit and her ambition will not lead to a "Vizier" sort of scenario where she tries to usurp the power, but I guess he'll just have to watch out for that. The most important thing is that Zui is in! But seriously Seiji, be a bit nicer to Naz. Not sure how I feel about our little Dark Elf. I guess taking her in tentatively and having her prove herself to be trustworthy is the best decision. She certainly needs to earn a lot of goodwill before I'd consider her anywhere close to a position that requires such trust. And she absolutely needs to be disabused of the notion where she sits on her high horse - currently she's about rock bottom in the organisation, not skills - or taskwise, but in regards of social standing. Something like snubbing Zui like that? Yeah, not gonna fly.

I think that with this arc about wrapped up, the odds that Maugro and mindy really are dead. Which is a little disappointing with how much characterization they got only to get merced by goons offscreen. And I was so sure that them dying was Maugros plan to put Seiji into conflict with jadrak

Russell Todd

I think that might be her idea of humility

Leaf

Eh, her combat potential is way higher than most of his current followers, and is apparently loved by her people. I expect that A lot of character development is coming but in the end she will enjoin anyway.

Too Much Sanity May Be Madness

Which is kind of sad, because the whole reason she was trying to do such impressive feats before introducing herself was so that she could introduce herself to him as his peer. I wonder, then, why the "slave" talk and genuflecting. It definitely surprised me, given what we know about her from her POV bonus chapter.

Russell Todd

And as Seiji just said, he wants peers so her offer of being his slave is uh not as enticing as she thinks it is

Wolfkit

I think that Vevalen's biggest mistake so far was dismissing Zui just then. Do not look down upon the Dark Lord's hairstylist.

Too Much Sanity May Be Madness

Hmm. I wonder if, even after trust is earned, Velaven is going to end up not being Enjoined for the same reason Sneppit wasn't: she's too useful as someone doing the actual administrative work of ruling the Dark Elves to come along on the quest. She said it herself: she was a competent ruler. And why would you want to reduce a competent ruler to a figurehead?
