Actually, plastic waste might be a really convenient way to feed fire slimes. Eventually, once production is at that level

From the sound of it, the availability of metal will be a major constraint, even if goblins can mine I doubt the scale will compare to the industrial revolution

Quite straightforward, actually: https://distillatio.wordpress.com/2013/09/17/the-invention-and-manufacture-of-mineral-acids-in-medieval-europe/

Well, one of the most game-changing ones from a military perspective is nitroglycerin/TNT/guncotton/all those other lovely explosives that you get from nitric acid. On Earth, it was centuries and centuries between the invention of black powder weaponry and Nobel's work. But we already know that chemistry works the same way in this world as in ours, so as long as Seiji has read the Pern books ("agenothree", anyone?), or even knows the name "nitric acid" -- for that matter, if he simply knows the name "nitroglycerin" , they could probably figure it out from that, being clever and alchemical and all -- well, let's just say that high explosives are the hammer that makes a hell of a lot of problems look like nails.

The one that seems obvious to me, actually, is communications and cargo transport between islands via ballistics plus a parachute to land. It doesn't matter how strong the winds are; when your target is the size of an island, and you can make your projectile arbitrarily heavy relative to its surface area (simply by making it larger), you can effectively ignore the winds between the islands. You couldn't send people, because of the g-forces. But you could send anything that could handle the acceleration needed for the trajectory to reach the target island. And, of course, once you have ballistics capable of reaching other islands, you also have perfectly adequate artillery. You probably get those in the opposite direction, actually. But the one that transforms the society is not yet another way to kill people. They have plenty of those. The one that transforms the society is the one that changes its fundamental assumptions -- like the assumption that land bridges are necessary to get between islands.

Don't make plastic! Nooooooo.....you'll never get rid of the stuff. Well, maybe they have an advantage - they can throw it over the edge.

Guns are the obvious one, but given they are getting electricity then telegraph or even radio might be on the cards

If goblin engineers can reverse engineer some of our tech based on just a description, what else can we get?

Wolfkit

What a thoughtful gift! It's exactly what he wanted, and exactly how he never wanted.

Too Much Sanity May Be Madness

Huh. I had thought "normalize relations with the cat tribe" was a task that could be mostly delegated, but no, if salvation is the request, it looks like that is going to require Seiji's personal attention.
