Inb4 aster pounding Seiji joke

Gil

I hope they become allies, Rhydion seems like the stabilizing force that the crusade needs and also its funny to see Seiji taken down a philosophical peg. Aster, I love ya but you're a hammer and Seiji is not always a nail.

Excellent banter as always! I have to wonder how wise it is of Seiji to give away so much information about himself and his home world - especially to Rhydion - in this manner. There can’t be that many places where murder and death is inconceivable on Ephemera. And no doubt the squirrels might be able to play off Rhydion against Seiji to get an optimal deal for themselves, with a Blessed of Wisdom leading them.

Too Much Sanity May Be Madness

Hmm. I went back to look at the Rhydion POV bonus chapter, and, to my surprise, it sounds like, underneath the armour, Rhydion is exactly who he appears to be. Not a time-shifted Seiji (which seemed especially an option after reading Seiji's mind last chapter); not a former Dark Lord; not even a Viryan playing the role of a Sanorite. There go all my fun theories out the window. I guess that means the mystery isn't who he is, but who he was before he put the armour on, or perhaps who he will be if/when he ever takes it off.

I think it was literally the last chapter where I commented that Rhydion was too intelligent to miss the smaller picture. It turns out I was completely wrong and that is hilarious, but I appreciate why. Rhydion had the worst sort of problem. Being technically right. He is technically right that the path of least suffering is education and systematic change. He just has to ignore every person who dies or suffers until his system is in place. Mathematically it will do the most good for as many generations as possible. And that is the only way his answer is the correct one, even if it is perfectly technically right.

Ah, some really interesting philosophy between seiji and Rhydion again! They will either become the best of allies or worst of enemies

Also good to hear from Dhinell!

You know, it’s becoming more clear to me how valuable Seiji is to Rhydion purely as an opposing viewpoint. He’s serious about doing the best that he can. How many people are out there that are both willing to actually butt heads with him while also knowing something he doesn’t? The vast majority of people that would be comfortable doing it are either high ranking or close friends, neither of which are likely to have a such a different viewpoint. I don’t know how paladins grow in strength, but if personal moral growth is a component, then an opportunity like meeting Seiji may be valuable in a literal sense.

I very much appreciate him making that point to Rhydion. I also very much appreciate Rhydion for receiving it the way he did.

The seer and shamanic traditions of dount could be flexible enough to be passed down to any blessed. And honestly Might could be the easiest since you don't have to dig up new scrolls and just inherit your predeccesor's Artifacts.

Parker Groseclose

Yeah it was nice for him to stabilize his own footing, instead of being Rhydion’s conversation punching bag

Sleepless

Nice to see Seiji getting a word in edgewise with Rhydion. Assuming the Seer is another Blessed with Magic, I'm wondering where they're getting the Blessing from.
