Oh, Linda, I’m sorry to hear that. It’s so hard when on the outside you know that it should be enough that YOU celebrate you, but on the inside, you really want them to see you too. I used to cry my eyes out when it happened to me. After I let the emotions run their course, though, I realized that kids of a certain age go through their phases (there are several ages) of being narcissistic little pricks 🫤. Eventually, you DO get to know each other as real human beings, though, not just parent and child. Then, if the relationship is good (as with people other than their parents), they tend not to forget those things as much. It just takes time (kind of a lot of time 🙄, but it really DOES happen). In the meantime, remember that you are totally worth celebrating, and you should do it up right for yourself! And, as for your husband…do it up even BETTER for yourself 🙂!!!! Even though this will likely mean very little, Happy Belated Birthday from an internet friend 🎂

Sigh, today I am sad. Normally, I do not share when I'm feeling sad or depressed but here in this place I feel more invisible. Why I am sad is crazy, especially when I have so much to be thankful for but my family forgot my birthday. Stupid emotion, I know, it was two days ago, no phone call or acknowledgement from my husband (who is on a business trip in NYC) or my daughters (who are busy with their lives), I kinda knew this day would come, when you put your life on hold to raise a family, eventually the babies become adults creating their own beautiful worlds, not exactly sure what is going on with my husband sigh😔 but still the expectation is there and you hope for a sign. Anyway, dinner time, after little man is in bed, maybe a bubble bath and a Martini for Mama...looking forward to some handsome Matthew time later😘🤗
