Story 8 Compositing and Progress (Dec Update 2023)

Time for end of the year updates and a look at what's going on behind the scenes! Note that this post does not contain any major story spoilers.
Compositing
IM ON FIRE!!
I've been spending the past week doing compositing (adding the shines and integrating the animation with backgrounds) on select scenes, and I'm super pleased with how it's turning out. When it came to the final "look", we've been working mostly blind, aside from some concept art. It's rejuvenating to see these polished scenes move in full 24 fps! Something I'm rather proud of is how Gildedguy's gold armor matches the hue of the background's coin mountains.
These composited scenes are in preparation for an announcement I'll mention later in this post.
Story 8 Progress
Progress for the project as a whole has been patchy these past few weeks, and will likely continue to be slowed down until after Christmas. With the holidays around, and a significant personal event occurring soon (🤵👰), I hope it's understandable that we finished less scenes than normal. I still estimate we are around the 75% completion mark for this big episode, and I am more eager than anyone to have it out as soon as possible!
We wanted those Cyan scenes to be green!
My aim for this month is to finish compositing scenes and get the ball rolling on the scoring ♪.
Winter Overlay
Since it's winter time, I've updated the live stream overlay appropriately. One of our talented viewers, BetaPotata, created a fitting santa hat & beard for the mini Gildedguy model. How jolly!

Miscellaneous Updates

The new keychains are ready to be ordered, but since we are planning on restocking some stickers and posters, they won't be made available until the new year. Apologies if anyone was planning on nabbing those as a holiday. We still have existing stock for any emergency gifts as well as open commissions if you'd like me to draw you or a friend's character in my style.
Official Trailer & Release Date...
All the aforementioned polishing and compositing is to support the goal of editing a BIG trailer for Story 8! Unlike the teaser from July, this will be the first extended look at Gildedguy & the Dragon of Mar for the public. I want to really WOW our audience as a thank you for their (and the Patrons') patience.
It'll also announce the release month, effectively putting a deadline on this monster of a project. I am ready for fires to be lit under butts. Expect that trailer to come out near the new year!
