🕑 Added 2025-03-21 14:07:48 +0000 UTCThe scorching sun hung mercilessly in the sky, casting long, wavering shadows across the arid landscape. The wind carried the scent of dust and sweat, whispering through the jagged rock formations that loomed like the remnants of a forgotten world. Beneath them, the sand shimmered, betraying the hidden heat that made the air itself feel heavy. The two executioners strode forward towards their victims who had been nailed to wooden crosses awaiting their fate.
Lulu: “What a beautiful day for an execution.”
Tifa: “If you say so, it’s so hot out here I’m sweating buckets. Let’s just get this over with so I can go back and shower.”
Lulu glanced at her ally, with a hint of disgust.
Lulu: “These moments are to be savoured, you can’t just rush these things. Just because we have a job to do doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be able to have a bit of fun.”
Tifa: “Ok, what do you suggest?”
They approach the prisoners who had just begun to regain consciousness, they approach the first one, looking her up and down. She seemed somewhat timid, not a hardened warrior like her sisters. She looked at the two women, her eyes full of fear. Lulu poked her navel while smiling at Tifa as Mai looked down and tried to prepare herself for what was to come..
Lulu: “We take turns, whoever gets the most navel shots gets 50 gold. Once the target has been hit we move to the next one, if the first person misses then the other has a go. Sound good?”
Tifa: “You’re on.”
Tifa approaches Ayane with an arrow in her hand.
Tifa: “Ready for a new piercing, Ayane? You’ve always been a tough opponent, think of this as my parting gift to you.”
Ayane: “Oh sweetie, I think we both know archery was never your strong point.”
Tifa: “We’ll see about that.”
The two executioners turn to Momiji, a fearless warrior who appears completely at peace with the fate that awaits her.
Lulu pokes her finger into Momiji’s navel while Tifa grabs her face.
Tifa: “You’ve always been a great warrior, but even the greatest have to die someday. Are you ready?
Momiji: “I’m not afraid to die. You two girls may have fun but not half as much as me.”
Lulu and Tifa look at each other somewhat bemused.
Lulu: “I knew this one was tough, I didn’t know she was crazy too. I’ll give her a little extra parting gift.”
Lulu turned Momiji’s head toward her before leaning in and kissing her, she grabbed Momiji’s abdomen as Tifa looked on with amusement.
The two of them walked away, leaving the three girls to prepare themselves.
Tifa turned to Lulu.
Tifa: “You’re really enjoying yourself, aren’t you.”
Lulu: “Well, you’ve got to find some ways to spice up your day, you never know when it might be your last. Anyway, since I’m in such a generous mood I’ll let you take the first shot.
Tifa lined up her shot on Mai as Lulu looked on. She released the arrow and watched it sail through the air, hitting Mai in her abdomen but missing the target. Mai cried out in pain while Tifa turned away in disgust.
Tifa: “Damn it!”
Lulu: “Close, but not close enough. Now watch the master at work.”
Lulu readied her shot and released it. The arrow hitting Mai squarely in her navel.
Lulu: “That’s how it’s done, you taking notes for your next shot?”
Tifa: “Yeah yeah, lucky shot. The sun was in my eyes, that’s all.”
Tifa took aim at Ayane who looked back defiantly at her.
Ayane: “Don’t miss, girl!”
Tifa: “I don’t intend to!”
Tifa released the arrow, hitting Ayane’s navel.
Tifa turned to Lulu.
Tifa: “One all, think you can finish this with your next shot?”
Lulu: “Easy, just watch.”
Momiji looks at each of her sisters, Ayane trying to hide her pain while Mai begins to sob.
Mai: “I don’t…want…to die.”
Momiji: “Mai, listen to me. One thing you must always remember, no matter what you must be brave. This was always going to be our fate, it was just a matter of when, , so let's enjoy death as we enjoyed life.”
Momiji turned to Lulu who was lining up her next shot, she seemed to be enjoying her final moments. Lulu released her shot, the arrow thudding into Momiji’s navel.
Momiji: “Ooooh… a perfect shot... We might as well enjoy every moment, both life and death... haha.”
Lulu turned to Tifa.
Lulu: “This one really is completely insane. Anyway, it looks like that’s game to me. Come on, let's get them down.”
They make their way back toward the prisoners. Mai is drifting in and out of consciousness while Ayane still tries to hide her suffering. Momiji on the other hand still seems to enjoy her last moments.
They lay Ayane and Momiji down at the foot of the crosses then turn their attention to Mai, her breathing is shallow and she is very weak.
Tifa (with a hint of sadness in her voice): “Rest now, you’re at peace.”
They watch over the three victims as they bleed to death under the scorching sun.
Lulu: “Well, I think that’s a job well done, time to head back for a well earned drink.
