The worm virus Aziraphale has spent the past four years coding to restore him and Crowley to the Book of Life any time someone tries to delete them. All he needed was a convenient way to get Heaven's attention in a way that would guarantee him access to not only their offices but also a position of enough power to have full admin permissions, enabling him to install it in the Heavenly BIOS and give it access to all root directories. They are now un-removable and safe forever. Mr. "always half a century behind the times" didn't buy a non-GUI computer in the 80s (when users had to know command-line prompts to operate one) because he wanted to modernize. He did it to practice coding.
