Chapter 131: Forging Basics
🕑 Added 2025-04-03 14:16:18 +0000 UTCWhat do you want to teach me?
Xu Yuan looked confused.
He didn’t expect his uncle to say such a thing.
A review of forging basics?
Haven’t I been laying a solid foundation in these past three years?
If it wasn’t for the purpose of consolidating his foundation, with Xu Yuan’s ability, he could have tried to do the spiritual forging long ago, and he would have had a good chance of succeeding!
So why bother testing the basics?
In the next three days, Xu Yuan understood what it meant to sort out the basics.
The so-called sorting out of the basics is to change his foundation from the auxiliary forging method to become a forger, to help him sort out the forging method of an orthodox blacksmith and lay the foundation.
Before, Xu Yuan’s forging techniques were all developed for auxiliary forging. The hammering method was used on rare metals, and his real hammering skills were not outstanding.
According to Zhenhua’s perspective, he also commented that with Xu Yuan’s level, he was able to complete the forging of two rare metals of the first grade within eighteen hammers at the same time, and the quality would not be affected at all. However, because his forging techniques were all basic auxiliary forging techniques, rather than the basic techniques of an orthodox blacksmith, he had to waste thirty-six hammers to complete this step.
For three days, Xu Yuan put aside all his other training and devoted himself to learning the orthodox blacksmithing techniques.
At the beginning, he did want to learn auxiliary training to reduce his study burden, but as he practiced and studied, he found that he still had energy to spare!
At this moment, returning to the training of an orthodox blacksmith was actually very much to his liking.
After three days of study, Xu Yuan could feel that he had further improved his forging skills. If he were to perform spiritual forging, he had great confidence that he would succeed.
However, he does not need spiritual training for the time being.
Spiritual forging, spiritual forging, Xu Yuan planned to save the first spiritual forging for the one that meant the most to him.
Jue already possesses spirituality and even wisdom, but its body was still a spiritual alloy forged from rare metals that had been forged a thousand times. Through soul induction technology, its spirituality was stimulated, and while it was born with wisdom, it also possessed the characteristics of a soul and could form a contract with a soul master and be given a soul ring.
Its body is still at the first level of Thousand Forgings, but its foundation is already quite solid. If its body is spiritually forged, then its foundation will instantly increase dramatically, its spirituality will be more sufficient, and at the same time its understanding of spearmanship will be deeper, and its fusion with Xu Yuan will also be deeper.
Spiritual forging metal itself has the ability to fuse with soul masters!
Coupled with the soul contract, the blood contract, and the fusion of both parties in all aspects, Xu Yuan believes that he and Jue will become better partners.
Three days are just to learn the basic forging techniques.
In the following week, Xu Yuan performed Hundred Forgings and Thousand Forgings under Zhenhua’s guidance. He controlled his forging techniques step by step, corrected his habits, and returned to the ranks of the First Thousand Forgings.
“I feel that my forging skills are now unprecedentedly powerful.” Xu Yuan said with emotion.
Zhenhua slapped him in anger.
“You kid, you still have a long way to go. Apart from anything else, there is still a divine punishment before you reach the 99% degree of fusion you want to achieve.”
Even though it is only one percent, the step from 98 percent to 99 percent is not so easy to achieve.
In the history of forging on the continent, those who were able to accomplish this were all Divine Craftsmen!
That’s right, they are all Divine Craftsmen!
This also means that if you want to increase the fusion degree of two rare metals to 99% during smelting, you need to have the comprehension of the Heavenly Forging level.
Even Zhenhua, decades after becoming a Divine Craftsman, has only had a single-digit number of successful cases.
However, thinking carefully about his own experience of melting two pieces of metal to create an extreme alloy with a degree of fusion of 99%, Zhenhua had to admit that this process did not involve any laws and had no necessary connection with heavenly forging. The most crucial point was the use of the power of heaven and earth.
Although Xu Yuan was only a Soul Ancestor, and his forging level remained at the stage where he had not yet tried spiritual forging, he could mobilize the power of heaven and earth!
The Tianyuan Brush was only second to Xu Yuan’s Heaven and Earth Baking Furnace Method, which used his heaven and earth nourishment to induce the fusion of rare metals and promote the spiritual fusion in spiritual alloys, which was more appropriate, but gave him a chance.
“Your current task is to first successfully achieve a fusion degree of 98% without relying on the Heaven and Earth Baking Furnace Method, and then use the Heaven and Earth Baking Furnace Method to stabilize the fusion degree at 98%. The requirements are not high, at least one out of ten times of fusion forging will achieve a fusion degree of 98%. When the time comes, you will concentrate on training again and come to me to strive for a fusion degree of 99%. “
Zhenhua’s arrangement was very reasonable and Xu Yuan also agreed with it.
However, every goal in this simple task plan is so far away for the blacksmith.
The fusion degree is 98%. How many blacksmiths can be sure that they have a chance to forge it even once?
Even the Saint Craftsman can’t guarantee it.
Mu Chen, an eighth-level Saint Craftsman, had never achieved the forging of spiritual alloys with a 98% fusion degree. Perhaps, when his forging skills were further improved and he could achieve this, he would truly have the level to challenge the Divine Craftsman and could try Heavenly Forging.
There is definitely a reason why Zhenhua believes that Xu Yuan is a master craftsman.
“Continue to forge with me for a week.” Zhenhua did not let Xu Yuan leave: “You don’t know how little time you have for forging every day when you return to the academy. You can better hone your foundation by training with me around the clock.”
He pointed to the forging table in front of Xu Yuan.
Continue!
Xu Yuan took a deep breath and swung his hammers.
Boom!
The dull knocking sound rang out again.
Another week passed, and Xu Yuan finally ended the hellish training.
During the seven days, he forged more than ten times every day, for a total of more than eighty times.
During these more than eighty times of forging, Xu Yuan strived for perfection and produced as many as ten pieces of divine alloy.
Among them, there are two pieces with a fusion degree of 95%, one piece with a fusion degree of 96%, and seven pieces with a fusion degree of 97%.
It turned out that his Heaven and Earth Furnace Method had stabilized the improvement in forging the Divine Alloy at two percentage points.
According to Zhenhua, every time he successfully forged a divine alloy with a fusion degree of 97%, the level should normally be 95%.
If he himself has a level of 96%, I can’t say whether he can achieve a fusion degree of 98% with the help of the Heaven and Earth Baking Furnace Method. But if Xu Yuan himself has a level of 97, then he should have a chance to achieve a fusion degree of 98% with the help of the Heaven and Earth Baking Furnace Method.
The further we go, the harder it becomes to increase each percentage point.
“Okay, your next task is to raise the success rate to this level without using the Heaven and Earth Baking Furnace Method, and then come to Tiandou City and train with me for half a month, using the Heaven and Earth Baking Furnace Method to help you reach a 98% fusion degree."
Xu Yuan breathed a sigh of relief.
He went to find Mu Ye.
“Teacher, how are you organizing the mecha transformation technology?”
“It’s been prepared a long time ago. You can study it yourself when you go back. I think you can learn faster than I can teach you.” Mu Ye handed a document to Xu Yuan.
