Chapter 16: A Room Full of Light
🕑 Added 2025-04-20 06:25:31 +0000 UTCIs there a mimesis training area on the top floor of the Dean’s Building?
While no one was paying attention, Lu Buliang transformed into a shadow and escaped into the ground.
A black shadow is swimming quickly towards the top along the wall of the Dean’s Building. After a few breaths, it reached the top and turned back into Lu Buliang’s appearance.
Standing on the roof, the shadow spirit’s perception became stronger. Lu Buliang looked curiously at the black floor under his feet. At this moment, he was at the top of the dean’s building, and what he was standing on should be the ceiling of a room.
“The light energy sensed by the shadow martial spirit is generated below here. Could it be that there is a room similar to a mimesis training ground under the ceiling?”
Lu Buliang squatted down and tapped lightly a few times with his fingers. He found that the ceiling was very strange. It sounded like fingers tapping on glass, not a stone wall.
There was also a feeling of walking on a glass bridge under my feet. The black floor was more like a mirror, reflecting Lu Buliang’s appearance.
“This ceiling is actually a two-way mirror!” Lu Buliang was secretly surprised. The ceiling under his feet was indeed not made of stone, but a glass-like material.
Two-way mirror, also known as one-way perspective glass.
On Earth, two-way mirrors are widely used. For example, when a two-way mirror is installed on a car, people sitting in the car can clearly see the situation outside, but people outside the car cannot see anything inside the car.
Lu Buliang looked up at the sun in the sky and thought to himself, the black ceiling made of glass under his feet makes it impossible to see what is inside from the outside, but if he looks from the inside, he should be able to see the big sun hanging high in the sky.
Driven by curiosity, Lu Buliang became interested. He wanted to see why the ceiling of this room adopted a structure similar to a two-way mirror.
This room is airtight, there is no gap to get through. If you want to enter this room, you probably have to go through the front door.
Lu Buliang knew that this was the dean’s building, where the dean worked, and no one was allowed to enter without permission.
So, he can only sneak in.
While thinking, Lu Buliang had turned into a black shadow and swam down to the ground along the wall, then sneaked into the hall of the dean’s building through various gaps in the doors and walls, and swam silently towards the direction of that room.
The shadow state can block the detection of mental power. If you want to discover Lu Buliang who has turned into a shadow, you can only use the naked eye or special means.
Most of the people in the dean’s building were servants who did odd jobs. They were all ordinary people, so naturally they could not easily discover Lu Buliang’s whereabouts.
Everything went smoothly. Lu Buliang came to the vicinity of the room and took him a few minutes to find the door.
What surprised Lu Buliang was that this door looked like a wall and had no door handle. If it were someone else, they would not be able to tell that it was a door at all. It was only thanks to the ability to transform into a shadow and stick to the ground that he could discover that there was an invisible gap between the wall in front of him and the ground.
That’s why Lu Buliang thought that this wall was a door, a door that would open by touching a certain switch.
The builders obviously didn’t want anyone to discover this room.
Why is there such a mysterious room in the Dean’s Building?
Lu Buliang’s curiosity grew even stronger. He stuck to the ground in the form of a shadow and quietly slipped into the room through the gap that was invisible to the naked eye.
In an instant, his curiosity was completely replaced by astonishment. After entering the room and changing back into human form, Lu Buliang found that this was a room full of light. The temperature in the room was extremely hot, as hot as boiling water.
All four walls were silver and airtight, and the ceiling of the room, as expected, was a two-way mirror. Previously, one could not see the scene inside the room from the outside, but now, from inside the room, one could clearly see everything outside.
Lu Buliang gazed at the sun in the sky through the transparent glass ceiling. The shadows under his feet were thicker than ever before, and he himself felt more fulfilled than ever before.
My whole body is full of energy, as if there is an endless supply of power generating in my body. This feeling is caused by the strong sunlight.
Shadows are a product of light. The stronger the light, the stronger the shadow.
As the owner of a shadow spirit, light has a crucial influence on Lu Buliang. In the darkness without light, his shadow spirit can only be illuminated by the faint light emitted by the human body. This state will make the shadow spirit extremely weak and even unusable.
In places with strong light, it is difficult for any kind of martial spirit to suppress the shadow martial spirit.
Lu Buliang was almost certain that the ceiling of this room not only had the effect of a two-way mirror, but also had the function of enhancing light, or in other words, had a focusing effect.
With the help of the ceiling focusing light, this room is like a solar oven on Earth, filled with light and heat energy. That is why the temperature in the room is so high and the shadow spirit is in an active state.
The most suitable mimesis field for practicing shadow martial spirit is a place with strong light.
“The transparent ceiling should not be used for moon viewing, right?” Lu Buliang thought to himself. This kind of ceiling structure was obviously intentional. Although he didn’t know why there was such a room in the dean’s office, he finally found a good place for practicing shadow martial spirit.
The original book mentioned that the higher the innate soul power, the faster the cultivation speed.
When Lu Buliang entered school, he claimed that he had an innate seventh-level soul power, but only he knew that it was a fabrication.
When he traveled to Douluo Continent, Lu Buliang was eighteen years old. His soul power, martial soul and soul rings were all given by the system. There was no such thing as innate soul power.
For him, a person from another world, his innate soul power is actually equal to zero, and the cultivation of martial soul and soul power is very slow.
After living in Douluo Continent for nearly four months, Lu Buliang became proficient in the use of martial souls and soul skills, and at the same time, he was also working hard to cultivate his soul power. However, four months later, there was no sign of any improvement in the thickness of his soul power.
He thought about joining the Heaven Dou Royal Academy, firstly to get close to Dugu Yan so that he could better plan the immortal grass, and secondly because this academy had rich cultivation resources, which could greatly improve his cultivation speed.
Now that he could find a mimesis resource suitable for cultivation, Lu Buliang was very excited. He activated his first soul skill, Shadow Locking. With the ability to lock onto the shadow of any object within a hundred meters, Lu Buliang found that there was no sign of any life nearby, so he could sit down and meditate with peace of mind.
Coming to the center of the room, Lu Buliang sat cross-legged, closed his eyes and concentrated, practicing with the help of the sunlight absorbed and enhanced by the ceiling.
The soul power In the body began to become active, and the soul power that flowed through the body was like a hot current, nourishing every part of the body. Finally, the endless flow of soul power gathered in the dantian, surging like a heat wave.
This was the first time that Lu Buliang felt such a violent reaction of his soul power. It seemed that this light-filled room was indeed very suitable for the cultivation of shadow martial souls.
At this moment, Lu Buliang was practicing at several times the speed. His martial soul and soul power were becoming more active at several times the speed, constantly absorbing the surrounding light energy and becoming more and more pure.
Three hours later, blue soul energy burst out from Lu Buliang’s body, forming ripples that spread in all directions.
Attack, speed, defense, mental strength, soul power, and all physical attributes have been improved.
This situation had occurred before when absorbing soul rings. Lu Buliang knew that it was because the density of the soul power in his body had become thicker and the soul power level had increased by one level.
Now it is level 36 soul power.
The moment his soul power increased, Lu Buliang felt how beneficial light was to his shadow spirit. He was sure that the light intensity in the room was enough to burn a soul master’s body. Even Yu Tianheng, who possessed the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon spirit, would not be able to last three hours under such strong sunlight.
The reason why he was able to remain unaffected in this room was not because his physical strength was far superior to Yu Tianheng’s, but because of his shadow martial spirit.
What the shadow fears most is not light, on the contrary, the shadow fears most is darkness. Without a trace of light, the shadow will no longer exist.
There is shadow only when there is light. Therefore, no matter what kind of light it is, it will only have a positive impact on the shadow and will not cause any negative effect.
That’s why Lu Buliang is not affected by the enhanced sunlight from the ceiling. His body will not suffer any injuries and he will even be nourished by the light and become stronger.
In other words, the shadow martial spirit has a characteristic that makes it immune to all light-attribute damage and converts light-attribute energy into its own power.
If we can find a soul master with light attributes in the future, he might be able to perform soul fusion skills that are as powerful as those of Titled Douluo, just like the Dragon Lord Meng Shu and the Snake Lady Chao Tianxiang in the original novel.
Another hour later.
The thickness of the soul power in the body did not increase as quickly as before. Although under the strong sunlight, the martial soul and soul power were increasing at a speed of several times, but the soul power had just been increased by one level, making the original thickness of the soul power thicker. If you want to increase it by another level, you must obtain more cultivation value than before.
Lu Buliang ended his meditation, opened his eyes, stood up, and felt the changes in his body after his soul power was increased by one level. The shadow under his feet became thicker, his physical fitness became stronger, and his soul power was vigorous and powerful. It seemed that the shadow martial soul was affected by the strong sunlight, and its various attributes were also improved.
“Mimesis training can make the soul power training speed faster and make the martial soul’s aura purer. Come to this light-filled room to train every day. If you can maintain this training speed, you can reach level 40 soul power within half a year if nothing unexpected happens.”
Lu Buliang couldn’t help but sigh in his heart that God had finally opened his eyes and allowed him to come across this special room, which was undoubtedly equivalent to encountering an opportunity for cultivation.
