This is one of my all time favorites! Even if it's a little older there are so many elements that are good- the side by side parallels, red vs. blue, good vs. evil, light vs. dark, and the music slaps lmao. Don't even get me started on the religious connotations...I've watched it at least 5 times and it will always stand the test of time bc it's a discussion that will always be relevant. Especially right now, when they look back in history and wonder if we made the right choices and if our judgments were truly justified. Any piece of media that can make you reflect on your morals and real life are worth watching. I'm locked in with y'all

I like how ryuk is straightforward about his position but he's still a shinigami. He's gonna entice Light with this gamble because it's his job(?) to take humans' lifespans. And like you said, Light is going to want those eyes because he thinks he's going to be more godlike. But he's not a god. He's only a human being that's taken the forbidden fruit

I mean you guys have to think, the death note is a supernatural thing which no one in that world believes in or knows about. So light’s plan wherein L is investigating the police doesnt really put him at risk because Light is the picture perfect kid who does well in school and is liked by everyone, he doesnt actually show any signs of crazy, u guys know the truth which is why you think he does
