Cersei is her own ruin, her own undoing. She thinks she’s smart and protecting herself but it ends up backfiring bad. I saw what Cersei not only as a way to control tommen but to get back at the Tyrell’s. Cersei did not armed the faith militants “because people were killing septons and septa’s” but really it’s because she knew they would go after Loras because he’s gay (hiding behind gold and privileged). Then when asked to release him, she could say she didn’t explicitly have him arrested, she only wanted the high sparrow to get the common folk back in order. Then, she expects tommen to be able to get him out, and now the Tyrell’s are in debt to the lannisters for bailing out their heir. That’s how I’ve seen it. But the thing is, she said “what would you say if I told you of a great sinner in our very midst? Shielded by gold and privilege.” she’s talking about Loras but is very ignorant in the fact that she doing the exact same thing - using the fact that she’s uber wealthy, royalty to hide the fact that she’s engaging in in**st.
