Blackpink were SEVERELY being held back by YG and I thought that but NOT to this extent. That's why her rap is feeling different from when she did it in blackpink, her vocals too, same with this choreo! When they were all in their model era, I never expected something like this to come out of it. Jennie is more of a musician, an artist, than I thought! She is having the most fun creatively with her songs and despite all sounding quite different, It all feels organic and HER. I'm super impressed and enjoying all of her songs that she has released. A whole dance track is another thing I didn't expect, the choreo is fire. IDK if you know who Vata is, but he was in WeDemBoyz, a group featured in SMF. He was the leader and he is lead backup dancer here, like he was dancing with Jennie. I think maybe he had something to do with the choreo in this, which is why its super trendy.

no but fr i sincerely hope in their contract renewals at yg they are able to be more hands on with the upcoming comeback because as you said the rap and her dancing is way more intense then with previous stuff. yg has been limiting them all way too much and not showcasing what they can really do and accomplish. like it infuriates me to no end how much music we were stripped of.

this song has been stuck in my head since she dropped the snippet and the full thing did not disappoint. the cinematography? the costumes? the choreography? the lyrics? like this entire music video and song was to die for. i will never get over the pinks finally speaking up for themselves for all the unwarranted hate they received since their debut. like they’re doing it in such a fun iconic way and i love it !! not to mention the full project is INSANEEE. i added every single song to my playlist. the pinks have really risen the bar istg. ⭐️
