Eyy got ya fam Note that Mello and Near are very much two sides of L. L may have seemed straight and narrow like Near at first, but he had connections with Wedi and Aiber, with zero qualms about literally torturing Misa or breaking into people’s homes. L gave no fucks, but was also careful and good at covering his tracks. Mello is impulsive, while Near lacks initiative, neither truly worthy successors of L. That’s why L kept telling Light he might be worthy of the name of L, L is more than any one person, it’s a title to be passed down - the greatest detective. And yeah that cartoon depiction is quite racist, no denying that
