First off, sorry for the late post! I just got back from the gym and felt the urge to check in with you. I’ve been reflecting on a few things and wanted to open up the conversation.
Recently, I mentioned dialing in on 2-3 groups at a time to dive deeper into their content while still leaving room for spontaneous posts (as you've seen with Treasure Map or Enhypen at Coachella). I noticed an unusual amount of memberships canceled around that time. So I feel inclined to ask- Did this shift upset anyone? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts—what could work better? I’m always trying to balance variety with meaningful progress and I'm not very great at it.
How are you all feeling about the kdramas currently laid out for the month? Next week, we're starting Weak Hero Class S2 and since the second channel hasn't been going smoothly, this might be my last attempt for a show for a while unless an airing show makes some progress. Happiness will likely wrap up soon but will be scheduled at 2 eps/week so I can film other things too. Would you guys be down to watch more episodes together live on Twitch? (if I started today)
Filming for GOT S6 will likely begin tomorrow and I'll aim to finish that this month to schedule it out. Unfortunately, YouTube edits are costing $350–450 per season, which just isn’t sustainable for me right now. I’ll still test the waters with Seasons 4 & possibly 5, but if we still can't break 1k views then I have to pivot, feelsbadman.
Jax and I finished Death note (last 3 eps coming soon 1.5 hr long). We've started the next collab show which is Overlord. We will start posting that likely after we finish the season but the timing is ultimately up to Jax.
Lastly, I’ve gotten a few messages about Semantic Error and Arcane, so I wanted to clarify how requests work:
The system was implemented so someone could sponsor a reaction and if others wanted to support further, we could work towards completing them. But often times, someone requests the first episode to test my interest and then that's it. Since requests are supplemental content on top of the month's plans, it's tough to automatically have to sustain a bonus 2-3 series at once on top of everything. I even have a pending Thai drama request and I know a handful of you guys have asked for a Thai or Chinese show for ages, but this may not necessarily be that!
Just a heads up: If you see "Request" in a title, it means it's patron driven. It doesn't mean I'm picking the show up (just to possibly drop it). I think it's sick that sometimes I can vibe so much with things like GOT and Arcane to where I pick it up but sometimes things might get put on the back burner - even if I'm vibing!

yeah for me i am mostly only into seventeen and enhypen so that is why and also i am a college student and i only get around 600 euros a month to pay for everything so sometimes i have money to pay for a month and sometimes i save up for something another month

I don't think I have much to add that gives new perspective other than to say since it is genuinely impossible to please everyone doesn't really matter what content you choose. I don't mean that in a bad way It's just that you will always have people that are estatic about it and people who say it's not for me. I think the key is to advertise to those who aren't already here what's new to the patreon so that if some people take a break because you're checking out something that they're not interested in, ideally roughly the same amount of people eill join as new patrons because you're finally checking out something that they're interested in. The internet is big enough that I truly believe there's enough of an audience to justify watching almost anything and you have a lot of people who like to check in and sign back up as it suits them. I know we've talked about it before and I'm probably being a little tiring but I just think a little bit more advertising of what's going on on the Patreon to people who are not already here is probably the best way to go. Not with something as expensive as the YouTube edits but more with smaller things like shorts and frequent community posts & stuff.

I agree with this for sure. I also am here mainly for k dramas and I was interested in the ateez deep dive the other groups don’t really interest me personally. Also Patreon has been taking my subscriptions out of the wrong place so I had to cancel because of that.

i honestly came here for kdramas/anime. the only kpop group i do like is bts so.. also patreon has been a mess with fees & cancellations. it took me a couple times to even become a patron on here

My perspective: Already knew you from YouTube and K-Pop reactions. Came here for K-Dramas. Don't need YouTube Edits for those since I watch them as full reactions. I'm not interested into western shows or Anime. Deep Dives into specific K-Pop groups are fine, but you focus on groups I'm not interested in (i.e. personally I follow only girl groups no boy groups). So, if you don't watch a K-Drama I'm interested in, there is no reason for me to stay and that's totally fine. You can't "please" everyone. Do what you enjoy the most (don't chase "views" or "trends") and you'll build "your" community (that shares those interests with you) over time.

Yeah people's breaks are fine my brain was just seeing if there was any correlation. With GOT though, that's crazy! Is that when the books end, or is that season 5?

Unfortunately I have to take a break from a few patreons sometimes for financial reasons.. but also you finished GoT S4 so that is probably a big factor too. Some ppl clock out after that.

👀 if you see a cancellation it's because Patreon be messing with me and won't let me renew so I had to cancel and then re-subscribe or its just finances that month but all you have planned is great. Looking forward to the dramas! Weak hero and happiness! Also been enjoying black mirror! Can't wait for the deep dives too. For the requests I don't get what people didn't understand about that I thought it was clear. I don't comment often on here I'm like a silent viewer 😅 but always trying to support the best I can. But I mean so far I think you're doing great there so much variety in what you're doing!! If people are still mad like what can you do !?😭 You're only one person chill! Personally it's more enjoyable to watch someone react to something they enjoy and care about doing opposed to what others like. Because then you burn out and end up unhappy.. I'm going on a tangent now lol but you're doing great !

I think like any other show or group you do it just takes time, personally I’m excited for these 3 groups and the dramas, weak hero looks fire, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be doing certain things ya know, I can’t tell for certain why people might leave, maybe finances, certain shows, but if you stick to a plan I’m sure you’ll grow and those who want to return will, I for one don’t think you should be worried but I’m just here to enjoy it all when I find the time too haha also I for one understand the patreon paid requests but maybe some don’t, I thought it was simple enough

hi!! (disclaimer- i often will like content when it‘s released but will wait to watch and comment until i have more time) I‘m really looking forward to the group deep dives, i think it’ll get a good chance to really get familiar with groups. I‘m also happy with the drama selections- pumped for weak hero s2 and am enjoying happiness rn :) i figured the “patron request” shows would probably be a “quick check-out and most likely not a stuck with” show, so that‘s personally not been an issue for me. i’ve loved your content for a while, think you‘re doing great and bringing us a wide variety of content !!
