Follower Dialogue Expansion: Faralda 2.0
🕑 Added 2025-07-27 00:17:59 +0000 UTC2.0 adds a personal questline to Faralda revolving around her family and their struggle with the Thalmor. 174 new lines for her personal quest as well as her past in Alinor.
Update:
2025/7/28 - Fixed packaging issue that included some scripts from Faendal. Fixed a line that used a modern unimmersive word. Fixed two cold weather reaction lines to trigger only in exterior.
2025/9/28 - Fixed a looping dialogue issue in the quest The Staff of Magnus.
2025/10/13 - Fixed a looping dialogue issue if you didn't complete Faralda's research notes quest.

This mod is part of my series to renovate vanilla characters with additional depth and interaction, similar to the other Dialogue Expansion mods.
Features:
1. Makes Faralda a full-fledged follower and expands her with 441 immersive, lore-friendly lines, all voiced by high quality AI (see the video for reference)
2. Quest awareness for the College of Winterhold questline, vanilla main quest, DLC main quest
(Refer to this list for details)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Plt8XaDzvZADjeLU-UYVDTrrUsjGfVPMw8BLaLKBXqo/edit?usp=sharing
3. Many new story-driven interactions
4. Personal quests
5. Location-awareness, including cities and dungeons
6. Completely lore-friendly, expanding rather than completely rewriting the character
7. Immerse into your game world as a character who lives in it rather than taking over the show
This mod is 100% compatible with any mod, including dialogue expansion mods from other authors.
Safe to add or update mid-save.
There is a potential for future expansion with Faralda, including optional synergy with the overarching Shezarrine Saga
---
To trigger the second part of the quest, 5 days must have passed for a Bosmer to appear to inform Faralda about her family.
There is a patch which increases this length to 10 days and also require the completion of the main quest, as intended by the commissioner for pacing reasons.

After talking to Nirya, tell Faralda about it immediately.

I got an issue, maybe you can help me out: I don't remember picking up the research notes and spoke to Faralda first and then Nirya, Faralda asked me to spy on Nirya but i never got a quest. Talking to Nirya i could give her notes (didnt't know what that was about but did it anyway), nothing happened, and the next time i spoke to her i could give her notes again, that option never disappeared. Not realising this is part of the recruitment process for faralda (and never getting a dialogue option to tell her about or give her the notes) i progressed through the winterhold questline until after containment and well, she's not recruitable now i'm afraid :( Any console trickery i can do to resolve this issue? Thank you and love the FDE stuff, joined your patreon yesterday to support you in this :) (Which also means im using Faralda 2.0) Edit: I rolled back to a save before Stolen Research had started, never got it tho. Used console to start it and then talked to faralda, which opened up her follower dialogue right away (right before starting Containment). I tried having her as a follower during and and after Containment, but only if i had her before i could keep her as a follower, but then everytime i telk to her she keeps saying the Ancano lines. If i tried to recruit her after Containment the follower option was there but couldnt recruit her, just kept saying the Ancano line. Im gonna take her with me to Labyrinthian and see if something triggers her dialogue advancing. I have to note tho, im running Winterhold Quest Expasnion and i only turned off the NFF option to recruit Winterhold mages after starting over from my save i rolled back to.

Bad packaging issue, but it's safe to overwrite - they are the same files

Why does Faralda FDE conflict with Fandel's FDE
