season 3 was filmed during peak pandemic so it took a year since the s2 finale for s3 to air. in result, some episodes of s3 aired back to back so we didn’t need to wait a week for the next episode. this episode aired back to back with the next one. same is true for episode 7 & 8, and 12 & 13. also, due to the pandemic, the creator of Manifest was trying to practice social distancing with the cast. so lots of face timing, video calls, etc.
