A bustling harbour on the edge of a large island dominated by uncharted and dangerous jungle.
All sorts of folk can be found walking its streets from Tabaxi hunters seeking big game in the islands interior to Elven merchants selling trinkets and artefacts of long forgotten races in the bazaar. All come to Artemia!
Key Features
Government: Town council, independent town.
Economy: A way station for ships passing through the local island chain and those seeking treasure or game in the jungle.
Population: 150, cosmopolitan mix of races.
Religion: Due to the diverse nature of the population public displays of religious devotion are considered rude. All deities are worshipped with the Cave Shrine, you can find many alters within the cavern.
History: Originally founded as a hunting colony to procure valuable hides from the jungle several decades ago the town grew prosperous through trade and their strategic on major shipping routes. Recently however the town has fallen on hard times as pirate activity in the area has led to a decrease in trade and visitors coming to Artemia.
Furthermore the pirates are demanding protection money from the port, already burning a number of farmsteads outside the simple wooden palisades that encloses the town. The people of Artemia are tough but they can't hope to match the pirates strength.
