Claire Redfield (Resident Evil 2 Remake) -- Exclusive 3 of 4, 5/23
🕑 Added 2023-05-22 17:45:24 +0000 UTCOnce again, here’s another one of the contenders in the last poll I did – Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2 Remake.
I have done Claire several times before, but I feel like I never quite captured her correctly, especially with her new face model in the remake, Jordan Mcewen. When it comes to characters with physical actresses or face models (as opposed to, say, anime girls), I spend a little time going through professional photoshoots of the model, to get a good headshot for reference. Mcewen has this really cute, pouty mouth that I wanted to carry through. Claire isn’t exactly a sensual character (as opposed to, say, Ada), so I wanted to draw a scene that was quite casual and “in-the-moment”, as if Claire was taking a few moments of safety to catch her breath from the horrors of the police station. Of course, there’s always that unrealistic element of, “Okay, but why is she taking her shoes and socks off in the middle of a zombie outbreak”, but we have to make SOME concessions for pinups, at the end of the day. So I do my best to keep the piece grounded in the scene, and in the character’s personality, while still injecting playfulness.
