New WIP Resource: Social Encounter Statblock (Dinner with Lady Wachter)
🕑 Added 2021-04-07 15:28:12 +0000 UTCDecided to make a "social encounter statblock" for the dinner with Fiona Wachter last night on a whim. The goal was to make a quick reference sheet for DMs who might be unsure how to prep/run complex social scenarios. Would y'all find this kind of thing useful in other contexts—and if so, where? 🤔

Awesome; I'm glad to hear! You're spot-on about the fear of missing information - I know I've run lots of social encounters that I thought went pretty well - at least until I realized I'd forgotten to mention or reference some critical piece of lore or foreshadowing. Hopefully future, similar statblocks will be similarly helpful!

Just posted something similar on twitter, but this is fantastic. I definitely struggle with the creative side of DMing, and stuff like this helps make it more of a connect the dots and present the info type of encounter. In addition having a resource like this helps remove some of the nerves that you will miss something, letting you focus more on roleplaying the NPCs and having a bit of fun
