A Brief Status Update
🕑 Added 2025-01-27 02:38:34 +0000 UTCHello all! I want to begin this brief update post by apologizing for my lack of activity over the past two weeks. I'd hoped that January would see a flurry of activity . . . and promptly found myself walloped by a three-week (four-week?) on-and-off cold that just wouldn't die.
Fortunately, I've started taking the whole "let yourself rest and recover" thing more seriously, and seem to be on a steadier upswing (one which should hopefully leave me in normal working order within a week or so). Unfortunately, the assorted exhaustion and brain fog has also slowed my ability to work reliably on Reloaded, as well as Patreon obligations (such as the devblogs and DMG: Reloaded handout).
For this, I can't say much more than that I'm deeply sorry for the delays, and am actively vibrating at the opportunity to get back in the saddle. (For those who have played Mario Kart: You know that moment when you can start pre-accelerating just as the "2" begins to vanish, so that you rev up all the way to top speed, but the game doesn't actually let you start moving until it hits "GO!"? Yeah. It's basically that.)
My hope is that my new writing method will allow me to pump out 15,000-20,000 (rough, unedited) words per week once I'm fully recovered (assuming 3-4k words per session, five sessions a week), which would let me finish a first draft of Arc S: A Sword of Sunlight (plus other obligations) relatively quickly, then let me focus all of my attention and energy on editing.
The good news is that I have made a solid dent in Arc S over the past two weeks, drafting my way through most of the areas of the Amber Temple up through Area X22. Northwest Annex. (The (unedited) draft thus far counts approximately 15k words, though I expect that to slim down once I start editing.) The bulk of what remains includes (1) the northeastern main floor, (2) the eastern basement vaults, (3) the western basement vaults, and (4) the lich's quarters/amber vaults.
Hopefully, I'll be able to return to my normal weekly posting/update schedule this Saturday. Until then - thank you for your patience, and, as always, for your readership and support.
