Or art process things, whatever you'd like to know. I'll try to answer as many of them as I can in the morning when I inevitably wake up super early from going to bed at an absurd time.
Also, would you guys like this as a regular feature? I don't know how many questions everyone has waiting to be answered, but I'd love to have a reason to interact here more!

I think their background isn't too much more, honestly! Elliot was excited to be talking to a cute girl, even if it turned out she didn't like his coffee lollll. He got lucky that she actually really liked it and kept coming around the coffee shop over and over so he could get to know her.

A background about Malaya's parents would be interesting. On one side, a young woman entering an alien world, where the first positive point was strong coffee, on the other, a young man happy with his café yet frightened a new client might have considered that coffee too strong.

I'm not against the idea! It's hard to write some characters separate from the story, and some of them (Vincent) don't really like to say what's on their minds, but I'm down to try at some point lol

What do you think about doing a "Ask Me Anything" with the protagonists of your story and let them answer "in character"? I loved it when Jade did this kind of thing with her characters in "Ask the Werewolves" but her point was to mock the question a little bit to make the answers more funny. Your characters on the other hand are more grounded and their answers would be more serious and sincere. Therefore it wouldn't even be plagiarism because if you'd do such a q&a it will have completely other tone and style. This way the background of minor characters could be fleshed out without giving them more "screen time" and distracting from the main story.
