[EARLY TAPE ACCESS] Infinity Ward Studio Tour (2007)
🕑 Added 2023-06-10 19:40:52 +0000 UTCHey Early Access Patrons,
A new feature of your early access patronage is early access to some of the choice selections from our soon-to-be-publicly-announced video tape preservation project, and we're starting off with a banger.
I recently found a tape featuring a bunch of interviews from Infinity Ward during the development of arguably their best game ever; Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. On one of the tapes was this 15 minute tour of the office by studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West - both of whom would later be fired from the studio and go on to found Respawn Entertainment.
It's a terrific look into studio culture back in the day and also how much MTV Cribs we were all watching. Shoutout to my buddy Wernher Goff at GameSpot who originally filmed it.
Let me know what you think, and what you think of these early access tapes as part of your reward tier. These videos will eventually make it to our Archive YouTube Channel and Archive page.
Thanks for your support!
Danny

Fascinating. Like, you can feel the awkward from everybody that isn't Jason or Vince. CLEARLY wasn't announced ahead of time. Also: Why are half the people riding scooters in an office space? It's so bizarre. In addition, this feels like something you would never see happen now-a-days, because I have the perception (rightly or wrongly) the games industry has doubled and tripled down on secrecy as time has gone. Also, the fact this is an Activision developer too is another facet that has me surprised. Just... fascinating. Thanks a bunch Danny!
