Part 2: Origins - New Origins options, including Ancestries (Species), Backgrounds and Origin Feats, with a selection of ready-to-play pre-gen characters.
Part 3: Subclasses - New Subclasses, Spells and Items, including printable item cards.
This Quest Pack: Origins - Ancestries, Backgrounds & Feats
A player character's Origins include their known Languages, their Ancestry (or Species) and their Background - which comes with an Origin Feat.
Ancestries
A character Ancestry serves the same function as the Species, but we've added a few additional variables to the descriptions of our Ancestries -- like their diet, how they rest, how they're born (or created) and how long they live.
Mixed Ancestry
We have defined Ancestry as separate from (but interchangeable with) Species so that we could include rules for Mixed-Ancestry characters that enables you to select traits from different parents, forming a character that feels like a mix.
Gender Identity & Personality Traits
We've included a lot of role-playing inspiration and prompts with these player options: the Ancestries have notes on gender identity and a table of personality traits, and each Background has a table for character motivations. We want to make creating a character feel like more than just selecting some mechanics -- we want you to feel that by choosing those mechanics, you are writing a character; a story!
Custom Backgrounds
We've also included rules for creating a custom Background. We feel that you should have the opportunity to make your character's Background truly your own. Don't like the tool proficiency, ability scores or origin feat that comes with one of the included Background options? Just change it!

Ancestries & Cultures of Hemelin was written for 5.1e, these new options are written for 5.2e. This new Kobold, and all of the other character creation tools in these Quest Packs, are for the updates (2024) ruleset!

Does this expand on the Kobold ancestry option in The Ancestry and Culture Book? or are they different
