Yeah Akashi decided to crush Ogiwara's spirit because the shit Ogiwara said in the hallway annoyed him. After hearing the idea, he said something like "this suits our next opponent perfectly" in the manga.

To be fair in the manga Kise came up with the idea, Akashi accepted the idea because he got upset that Kuroko wanted special treatment because they played against his friend.
