Such a great episode, I love the insight of Akashi and always makes me feel bad for him. I get that he tried to keep everything together but did it the wrong way

Omg it's a bit surreal we're actually so close to the end. Akashi's "lost sight of why he wanted to be stronger" refers to him wanting to keep up with his friends and still play basketball with the team. But instead, even though the emperor's methods managed to physically keep the team together, he contributed to breaking the team spirit. The Emperor, while appearing kinda evil, is actually very "simple minded" imo in that his persona only exists for victory and has no other purpose in life. In a sense I feel bad for him maybe even more than good Akashi. In the manga he was about to completely vanish here because he can no longer serve his purpose.
