In the manga they mention a Life limit and stamina limit, tanjiro was far past him stamina limit and was just about to pass the life limit. When you past the life limit you die instantly thats why his sister showed up if he kept going for 1 more second if i remember correctly he would have died

I think that Nezuko transformed and had those flashbacks because she smelled Muzan comin from her and then remembered hes the one who bodied her fam and leveled the fuck up! Shit gave me straight chills
