Dynasty Rookie Position Rankings (PPR)
🕑 Added 2023-05-04 07:00:15 +0000 UTCHey y'all! Just wanted to drop my dynasty rookie rankings for PPR format since I know many of you might have some dynasty rookie drafts this weekend.
If you happen to be in a Half PPR format, these rankings still apply as well because my rookie rankings tend to be less granular than trying to project actual statistics...and most rookies do not get enough catches to swing point projections by more than 1 or 2 points per game anyway, which is basically just splitting hairs. These rankings are more about talent evaluation and projecting the ROLE than they are about trying to nail a projected point total.
If you are in a non-PRR (standard scoring) league and need me to make rankings for that format as well that favor likely red zone opportunities over likely opportunities for touches in between the 20s (i.e., scat backs), I can definitely do that too. Non-PPR vs PPR are different enough that it may warrant a new spreadsheet. But that format seems to be less and less popular these days. Just let me know if you need it.
As for my philosophy on how these guys are stacked, again this is a combination of my own evaluations of these players (which you saw with my NFL Draft rankings last month), as well as a reflection of where I see their role now that they are on an actual NFL team. Receptions are nice, but touchdown potential is king - hence slot receivers and scat backs always taking a back seat to bigger backs with goal line opportunities, or bigger receivers that will theoretically get more red zone work.
If you can find a guy that will get both catches AND red zone opportunities, that's amazing and you just struck fantasy gold!...but there might only be one of those in this entire draft class anyway and he's probably going first overall. For everyone else...we've gotta just project, pick, and pray.
I will have a video on all of these position rankings coming out next week to expand on why I have them stacked the way I do, but as Patreon members I wanted y'all to have the actual list as soon as it was done just in case you need it this weekend. (attached below)
Happy drafting, everyone.

Are there any superflex or dynasty rankings? Full ranks including rookies.

Brett I need to know. Would you trade a 2nd round rookie pick for next years draft for Roschon Johnson? I already have Khalil but my team isn’t gonna contend next year and I’m more in a rebuild so I’m trying to trade Khalil and acquire Roschon. Also it isn’t my own 2nd round pick it’s someone else’s that is a fringe playoff contender
Do we get an update?

Brett, I'm not gonna lie you're gonna laugh at the haul I got during my draft. It was the inaugural draft for my league and long story short, you could choose to have more picks in lieu of picking veteran players... so I went heavy on the picks. Long story short, Bijan fell to me at #2, AR15 at #3, Zay Flowers at 1.08, Micheal Mayer and Roschon in the 2nd round, and Josh Downs late in the 3rd.

I wasn't paying attention, he went 37th in a 10 man keeper leauge. Brett seems to be the only one hype on him. I wish I had the updated list for my draft right after the nfl draft

Love the content! I know you have been high on DTR throughout the process; also I know dynasty is more talent over landing spot, but do you see DTR getting enough of a chance in Cleveland long-term to prove himself?

I recognize that Rice's situation is awesome, I just wildly disagree with the Chiefs' evaluation of him as a player. I did not have him anywhere near the second round, personally.
also curious how you see Rice in KC? Mahomes is gonna throw 40 TDs for the next 5 years. Seems dumb to not draft a KC WR?
