The turmoil around the revolution had left Darius, the gardener, with more important things than the maintenance of the vast property. The grass, however, looked as green and perfect as it had when the Judge had fled his home. Besides that, Darius had installed a new addition the front yard, a large wooden frame with eyelets on the inner side of its beams. “Hasn’t he built a nice playground for you, Judge?”, Viola asked as she dragged the bound and gagged man to the frame. He frantically looked around him and spotted several people near and far, watching as the bounty hunter fastened his ankle cuffs to the sides of the frame. She then fastened his hands together and pulled them up to the horizontal beam. His was now swinging in the sun, all his weight carried by his arms since his feet could not touch the ground. “Now”, Viola said and took off her top, “Time for you very first punishment session. Your new mistress told me you bragged about how many slaves you have sentenced to whippings throughout the years. She actually tried to find out the exact number, but they were too many to keep track.” Ashcroft shuddered at the realization what was about to come. He flinched in his bonds and pleadingly cried into his gag.
“I must admit”, Viola continued, unrolling the long tail of her whip onto the grass, “I usually like to keep things professional. In any other case, I’d be long gone with the bounty. But I just can’t wait to torture you. Let’s say we start with fifty whips today, okay?” Again, the Judge screamed and thrashed in the frame. “Aw, poor judge can’t get away”, she taunted. Then, with a loud CRACK, the leather tip of the whip kissed his back and felt like the touch of glowing iron. The pain swept through Ashcroft’s twitching body, swinging slightly back and forth. “You wanted to get out of this country so bad. You were afraid, weren’t you?” Another CRACK, another sting of pain, this time in his side. The whip had hallway wrapped around his body, leaving a mark on his belly. “I’ll make you wish you had tried harder, spent more money on a guide to get you out than you spent on me!” CRACK! “Three. It’s so much fun making you dance like this! And to think this is only me… Imagine what you former slave would do to you later!”
