July Update and Schedule
🕑 Added 2021-07-03 16:01:03 +0000 UTCIn some ways, it seems that summer just started, but in other ways, my summer won't last much longer. My kiddos return to school in early August, so I just have 5 more weeks of summer before my wife and I have to start waking up at 5:30 every morning! Oh well, just... *does the math* ...6 more years of this.
Oh, I have two pieces of news to share.
1) I was reviewing my most recent royalty statement yesterday, and I realized that I just passed a milestone; my games (CCH, CCH2, Zip!, and Starship Adventures) have combined jussssst passed 50,000 units in sales across all platforms. Back when I started writing CCH 1 in 2013, I'm pretty sure I didn't think I'd hit that sort of benchmark, so I'm proud of myself. At the same time I'm not satisfied and I want to get more games out. It goes without saying that I'm super appreciative of everyone who's helped me get this far, including a lot of you fine folks reading this right now.
2) Another thing; since 2013 I've been working off of a PC to write my games. There have been some pros (two monitors is a big one), but being confined to a certain spot in the house (currently the basement) is a big negative, as is not being able to write with my writing group or take part in things like NaNoWriMo. I really needed a change, to be able to work in the dining room or the back porch and to be better integrated with my family as I work. So, I'm getting myself a laptop that is essentially being purchased with my Patreon proceeds for the past year or so. I feel this is investing back into my business, and I thank you for helping me be able to do this. I'm really excited to order it this weekend! (I think I'm going with a Dell Inspirion 2-in-1 with a big 17 inch screen because I have old eyes).

July 25th - Things That Make You Go Hmmm Monthly Article (Hmmm Tier)
And remember, for folks who have supported me at the Hmmm Tier for 3 consecutive months or more, and who are current supporters at the time I submit the game files to Hosted Games, I'll include you in the Credits/Thank You section, again, pending approval from Hosted Games. (And I'll reach out to you to confirm the name you want me to use)
My goal for this weekend is to write 3,000 words and take a step closer to finishing "Family Day." To my fellow Americans, enjoy your 4th of July. And to everyone else, well....wait, I guess you can enjoy the 4th of July too, just perhaps a bit more quietly. Enjoy your summer!
