i heard someone saying the other day that we don’t allow for failure anymore especially to those not already deemed the top. they gave the example of a film flopping but with top actors that media just moved on from vs a few films and musicians that are practically blacklisted because they weren’t mainstream successes though clearly had a following. i’ve not stopped thinking about it. not every pursuit is going to be a mainstream hit. do we even want that culturally? failure is how we learn and grow, which is maybe more important in creative spaces

cooley! congratulations!! 💐 i was listening to Doja’s newest album on release day and was thinking you guys would LOVE it. i was debating about requesting the album to you guys haha. she’s great, i’ve always thought she was a genre chameleon. edit: oh man, i would love a Kpop Demon Hunters reaction!

LuuuuuM

Congrats on the award, Cooley! And congrats to you both on all the success lately! Amazing achievements 👏👏👏 I didn't know A Fine Frenzy! I'll listen to more of her music, I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the reco (: Yaay Louieee! I'm excited for his new album. That new song is such a vibe! 😆 And ending with some Led Zeppelin... Nice!!

Let me tell you how good that Louis song sounded live. It was beyond beyond fun

My kids and I have a huge playlist for anytime we are all in the car together called “Car Rides.” It started out as a way to 1. Keep them from arguing over what’s playing 2. Keep me from having to DJ and drive but 3. Expose them to stuff they wouldn’t be hearing in their little tween and teen bubbles. I’ll be adding a few songs from this episode for sure! Thanks, JT. Congrats, Cooley.. awards are pretty cool… eee.. 😁 Ps: if you decide to do anything from Kpop demon Hunters, can i recommend just the song “Golden”? It’s THE ONE that’s been at #1 for weeks and weeks and all the youngens are obsessed with. I actually watched the movie because my kid was so into it and I think it’s interesting how it’s very pure pop and it has captured this younger generation like it has crack in it. I’d appreciate your thoughts on that aspect.

I'm so behind! Had a crazy day yesterday and didn't even know this came out. 😭 Can't wait to watch!!!

Teaghan

Congrats Cooley!!!! And JT you smashed it by yourself!!! The jams were epic!

Teaghan

Will be watching this as soon as I get home!!!!!!

Great job, as usual, JT!! What a fun weekend you guys had!!! And Go Cooley, Go Cooley!! I feel like your BINGO card needs a level up so you can manifest more amazing things. 😂 Next couple of weeks will be rough for Directioners. All of the feels. Looking forward to the Netflix series it should be an emotional roller coaster. I hope the producers allow them to be natural about it and not force any kind of scripted or predetermined BS. Louis Tomlinson’s album will be released in January, PLENTY of time to react to his first two before then. Hint hint. 😉

Yay Cooley

Leah McGillivary

Good Neighbours just released their debut album, they already have some popular hits from it but I think it's worth a listen - it's folk pop!

You should definitely explore Halsey more, she has an album she did with Trent Reznor which is SO COOL and experimental. Its sad that her label wants her to live up to the pop girlies like Taylor because that just isn't the kind of music that Halsey makes. The interview was super interesting and I hope bringing light to this will help her get her music made.

Baillie Williams

Yay congrats Cooley!!! 🫶🏻

I love Halsey, and "The Great Impersonator" is an amazing album. I saw probably the interview you're talking about and it's like... she's not pulling Taylor Swift numbers (in her words, not sure if the label said or implied that or if it was just an article or something), so it's a failure, which is so ridiculous. And Halsey isn't shading Taylor, I'm pretty sure they're friends, but if they're gonna try to start comparing every artist's release to the numbers that Taylor pulls, then everybody else just might as well quit making music. Taylor is in her own category and it's beyond absurd that someone like Halsey, who's fucking amazing, is basically barred from making music because her last album didn't perform as well as the label wanted it to. I really hope Taylor makes her own record company at some point and brings in all of these artists and lets them flourish and shine.

Congrats to Cooley!! Love watching you do the air drums and hearing you jam too, JT 👏Louis’ Lemonade is a bop and love that you love his voice… Also thanks for featuring Aussie artists - I didn’t know Mia Wray - will check her out now.

Guitar sounds great with the Fate of Ophelia

Louis Tomlinson has such an amazing band. With his unique tone in his voice they have this cool pop punk sound that takes me into the 90’s. Can’t wait for that album and his road trip with Zayn will be full of different emotions. Very excited about that.

I am always just in awe on how artists can pick up an instrument and jam out the way you just did… so brilliant and you emote how you are feeling not only through your guitar but your body language and facial expressions. Love it 👏👏👏
