Also, I think a cool evil antagonist would be this like huge dark shadowy figure that looms around stage and grows in size and shape to what Tay is dealing with in the production journey. Like the amalgamation idea - this shadowy figure becomes the shape of all these different foes in her life. It would be so SLAYYYYY! and she wouldn't have to nail down one look for the bad guy. Ok… I was thinking. Maybe Debut could fit in like a Grande Ole Opry moment. There’s something kind of showgirl in a classic Dolly kind of way about a young girl going to Nashville, doing her hair up real big beauty queen style, and singing Tear Drops on My Guitar in THE dress. I imagine this as like a “flashback” almost toward the end of the show before a big performance of… Elizabeth Taylor because of the tears connection of course. I see parallels of her getting ready (testing her mic, tuning her guitar, last minute touch ups to hair, etc.). The life of a showgirl has always been there, but she’s just moved to bigger and bigger stages. And I imagine her repeating “don’t you ever end up anything buy mine” as she enchants the crowd. Curtains. 💁🏻‍♂️

madeline i’m loving your vision but if “im on my own” section is kinda about her dying/wanting to die, not only would it be interesting if elizabeth taylor was the resurrection/phoenix moment, and i think her “death” could be really interesting to set up the rest of the show, esp the circus segement. BUT all that to say if that’s how you go about it, have mirrorball be her death, and she’s LITERALLY the mirrorball… h*nging from the ceiling, shattered in a million pieces. maybe not so graphic but r u seeing the vision
