My Robatsu: Episode 2, Part 3
🕑 Added 2020-03-07 23:56:05 +0000 UTC[ -STUFFED ELIZA DOLL- SELECTED ]
Robatsu: I’ve searched through 1274 websites and tallied the response from 1,625,064 people, and I have concluded that the Eliza doll is the most popular among young girls and this is most likely to be loved by your little sister. Eliza is from a recent blockbuster after all! ➤
Maki: Hmm, makes sense. Alright, I knew I could count on you! ➤
I watched as Maki put the Rickey Rat doll back on the shelf and walked over to the cash register where Holly was standing behind, to purchase the Eliza doll. $36.99 it came out to. I could see Maki wince at the price as he reached into his wallet for just barely enough cash to cover the cost. Holly put the doll into a colorful Bizney’s reusable tote bag and handed it to Maki.
For a moment, I swear I saw the corner of Maki’s mouth curled into a frown as he looked down at the Bizney bag held in his hands. It was only for 2.35 seconds, but I wondered what he felt at that moment. He quickly turned his face into a smile and looked back at us.
I hear a loud noise behind me, like something hard hitting the floor. I turn to see a Rickey Rat lunchbox on the floor and Tako standing behind the shelf that it fell from. He’s mortified.
We were quickly shooed out of the store and now we're back on the mall floor. Tako forcefully struggled to put Chawan’s sweater crop top back on, much to Chawan’s dismay.
After he was clothed again, he took a moment to collect himself, then took out his phone and looked at the time.
I wonder what exactly Chawan means by “whole new robot.” Just how many new peripherals and upgrades is he planning on buying for me? I try to distract myself from the thought and turn to Tako to ask about his book.
Robatsu: Hey Tako, I would like to hear about Girl with a Spiral on Her Face! Was it an interesting read? ➤
Robatsu: Ah, that is pretty interesting!— ➤
Robatsu: Oh that doesn’t sound so bad actually— ➤
Robatsu: Ah, ah! No more! That is pretty terrifying— ➤
I look ahead to see that we’ve stopped in front of the Handsome Robotics store. It looks very modern and minimalist with tall glass windows surrounding the outer walls. The interior of the store is very white, with white floors, white ceiling, and fluorescent bright lights, it’s almost blinding. We’re about to step inside, when out of nowhere, a voice calls out to us back in the direction of the mall floor.
???: Hey, Wanwan! Long time no see! ➤
Chawan spins around to find the source of the voice. About 20 feet in the distance stands a tall, handsome German Shepherd man, dressed in formal casual attire, waving his arm excitedly at Chawan with his other hand in his pocket. He begins walking over to us, but suddenly stops when another voice calls out to us.
???: No Wanwan, look over here! ➤
Chawan whips his head in the opposite direction, down the other end of the mall. A short, cute Corgi guy dressed casually in a graphic t-shirt and slim fit blue jeans quickly makes his way down the stairs from the second floor. He’s frantically waving his arms to grab Chawan’s attention.
Robatsu: Do you know these people? What appears to be the problem? ➤
Robatsu: That’s unfortunate. How are you going to meet with both of them? ➤
Huh?! That makes no sense! Why is this a thing I’m being asked to do now? Oh well, I must follow orders regardless how ridiculous my owner is being.

Hmm, I sense Junji Ito references.
