Remants Of The Lost Civilisation
🕑 Added 2021-03-04 23:18:16 +0000 UTCHello everyone! Our map for this week is the Remnants of the Lost Civilization. The sand-stricken walls of the long-forgotten realm nowadays lay open for those brave enough to cross them.
The history of the civilization must have been a twisted one, as in the middle of the district lies a fallen floating island. What could have happened?
The Remnants is a perfect map for a larger battle, utilizing various buildings and difficult terrain. It might also work very well as an introduction to something larger - for example, a campaign revolving around recovering lost artifacts of the past.
Adventure hooks ideas:
- The PCs are being chased by a tribe of wild gnolls. They are fast, cunning and hungry, so any way of avoiding them should be a real relief. Finally, on the sandy horizon, a vague shape can be seen. When they come closer, and just barely slip into the city before the horde comes they realise something uncanny - there are odd noises coming from strange ruins in the middle...
- Maurenburg Museum of Oddities recently announced a bounty on a certain artifact, that is said to be hidden among the ruins of the ancient city of Nomae. Not only is it far away but it also lies just under the trail of the Floating Cities. And that always means trouble. Not only are their people audacious and rude, but also the cities themselves fall down for no particular reason from time to time.
- You hear the specific sound of the crypt door opening. Moreover - you see light. For the first time since you've been closed with your king in his tomb. Yet... somehow you are alive, unlike all the others poisoned to serve him in the heavens. As you step outside you no longer see your familiar surroundings.
You are in a completely unfamiliar place... It looks like your king's tomb just switched the place it was in. But why? And how did you survive?
