Lair Of The Swamp Beast
🕑 Added 2021-03-10 12:46:00 +0000 UTCGreetings, adventurers! This week we present to you the Lair of the Swamp Beast (free map). The old, dark bog, filled with murky water and decreasing corpses is also home to a terrible beast, living amidst it's treacherous isles.
Everything in the swamp can be dangerous - from unstable and makeshift bridges, through wild fauna and hungry flora to the dangerous predator-beast itself. And the worst thing is that there are traces of humanoids trying to... cooperate with the monster?!
The map will likely be a great place for the climax of an adventure, revolving around tracking and hunting a dangerous predator. As the map consists of both the swamp area and the underground lair, the battle can be taken to a completely different level.
Get ready for the stinky, dark waters, odd beast and plans and most importantly - watch your back in the Swamp Beast Lair.
Adventure hooks ideas:
- Your friend, Silvo Bannado gone missing two days ago. The traces lead to a dangerous, yet interesting swamp, as he was a florist, and would often wander around, seeking herbs. Nonetheless, he would always come back before midnight. As you get close to the bog you hear a deep growl...
- People go missing. They go to sleep and then, the next day their families find an open window and an empty bed as if someone was kidnapping them. This morning and additional clue has been found - traces of mud on the floor. A local geologist can identify it as mud from the nearby swamp, haunted by a dangerous beast. What the players don't know is that the beast isn't working on its own - about 20% of the citizens are participating in a cult, paying tributes to the monstrosity.
- Hunter Lodge has found traces of an interesting specimen. It's a troll, but not a casual one - it seems like a weird hybrid between those giants and... fish! It has attacked the Lodge's patrol and torn apart three of its members. Nonetheless, such a rare beast would certainly make a wonderful trophy on the wall of the lodge. They decide to hire someone from outside to do the task. They decide to recruit you.
