The Grand Cathedral
🕑 Added 2021-06-12 13:36:03 +0000 UTCHello, folks! As the daily mass is getting closer and closer the colorful light, passing through the stained glass, leisurely enters the quiet and lofty Grand Cathedral. This huge building is not only a respite for the humble believers, ready to worship their gods, but also a splendid work of art and architecture.
The main advantage of the map is its huge openness, providing lots of room for even the biggest moments of the campaign. A bit of high ground near the altar and grand pillars will for sure delight the tacticians in your group!
Don your best clothing, prepare your praying beads, reflect on your sins and calmly enter the Grand Cathedral.
Adventure hooks ideas:
- The royal wedding is today! And you, as the heroes of the land got invited! You are sitting on the bench during the holy ceremony when suddenly the windows smash into hundreds of pieces and an unearthly demon jumps into the center of the gathering. "This is a usurper and a doppelganger, I am your true ruler!" the demon shouts. Well... you don't remember your liege having horns and wings, but sometimes the reality is more complicated than it seems...
- The archpriestess of the moon god is planning on conducting a great rite to increase the growth of wheat in the region. To satisfy her god she needs to gather eight moonstones to channel his energies. The problem is that the stars will align in a week and she has only five rocks. Where to find more you ask? Well - it's simple - the dragons stole them all, so you have to find one and either persuade it into giving you them, steal the moonstones or slay the beast.
- It is said that on the top of the tower of the cathedral there lives a twisted creature, wretched by hatred to the good-natured people. It's kept there only because of its immense strength, high enough to use the heavy bells on top. The grand cleric is said to take care of the monster, yet sometimes a gruesome crying can be heard from the rook. Today the bells didn't ring in the morning... What could have happened to the hunched creature?
