Stone Circle
🕑 Added 2021-07-25 16:40:38 +0000 UTCHello, folks! There used to be times when magic was wild and sleepless, times of the elder gods and wierd wonders - times when Stone Circle was still of use. This magnificent circle of stone monoliths, standing among the grass on the top of a hill is a splendid requiem of the gone-by days.
The map will be an elegant setup for an encounter concerning mythical forces, hags, trolls and ancient beings. The elevation of the terrain may play a huge role in such encounters, providing both advantages as well as certain obstacles for both sides of the combat.
Take out your druidic staff, start chanting the ancient songs, prepare your runic bones and begin the rites in the Stone Circle!
Adventure hooks ideas:
- Eldritch beasts are hounting the wide, yellow plains in the south. The trails are no longer safe and the caravans get plundered. In the middle of this mayhem there lies Gretchin, a small hamlet, said to be somehow connected to the old druidic bloodlines. Many suspect the townsfolk of causing the misery, but the citizens deny such accusations. They say that the monsters come from the outside. The conflict arises, getting more intense with every passing day. If no one intervenes the war is inevitable.
- One of your colleagues has finally found a way to resurrect the elder spirits of the dead plains. Conducting the ceremony, needed to achieve the goal will not be easy though. A blood of a dragon, squished out from a beating heart of it's owned needs to be spilled all over the spirit prison, located under the great stone circle. The heart needs to be cut with a knife, cursed by a heir of a local dynasty, that aeons ago imprisoned the spirits. Only then the gates will open, the creatures will be free and the plains will be alive again.
- Clans from all around the region annually gather round in the ancient circle on the sacred grounds to conduct the duels for chiefdom. This year may be crucial, as many important decisions to be made are just at bay. Moreover certain clans are said to be plotting against the whole region. If the rulership goes into their hands you are doomed. Earl Helafix has hired you to make sure, that a noble and brave pearson will become the chief. No matter the cost.
