Chapter 19: To the Moon
🕑 Added 2025-08-31 14:13:59 +0000 UTC"That guy said the game he made is pretty good. Do you know anything about it?"
Looking at the loading interface, Sirin asked casually, and then the word "no" occupied the entire screen.
"No?"
As a well-known game anchor, her live broadcasts always have tens of thousands of real-time viewers, including naturally many who are paying attention to the Saint Freya Mini-Game Festival. With so many people saying no, it seems that this game is not very popular.
Forget it, since I have already agreed to it, I should naturally satisfy the wish of that "new fan".
"I remember the first day's voting rankings should be out, let me see where this one ranks..."
In order to keep the live broadcast room lively, the host must learn to "talk to himself" even if he doesn't read the barrage.
Click on a small icon to the right of the game name, and a number will soon appear.
"514 people...how many games were there in total?"
Soon, the barrage answered her question.
[There are 523 games in total, and this one ranks tenth from the bottom. ]
[Did the anchor receive money? ]
[It must have been recharged. I can only say that those who understand will understand. 】
[Well, after a quick look, it turns out to be an old-school pixel game, which is a bit difficult to handle. ]
[Anchor, anchor, if you have nothing to do, you can bite a lighter. There is no need to disgust everyone with these things. ]
[Happy, the Alahato α I recommended yesterday has made it to the top five today. I guess someone got jealous and came to the anchor to promote it. At least Alahato relies on good game quality. How can this old antique pixel game rely on that? ]
【......】
In short, before even starting to play, everyone's impression of this game has been reduced a lot, and they are already rubbing their hands in anticipation of starting to criticize it.
Tenth from the bottom...
Sirin deliberately frowned and said in confusion, "Is that guy bragging? He looks very confident. Forget it. If it's not fun anymore, I'll just turn it off and scold him tonight."
[Scolding? Be alert! ]
【Why should we reward him? ! ! 】
[Don't scold him, scold me if you want to! ! ]
[I think I need some encouragement from Miss Puffer!!]
......
Ignoring the numerous crazy comments, Sirin directly opened the game.
"Okay, we'll know whether it's a mule or a horse after we take it out for a walk."
As the logo of Gensokyo flashed by, the main screen quickly went black. Then, without any picture appearing, a series of clear and bright piano sounds slowly rang out.
It meandered and flowed like a gurgling stream, breaking through their shells directly, nourishing their hearts and smoothing out their previous restlessness.
【Don’t mention it, this music is really good. 】
[Indeed, it doesn’t feel like something that can be produced by an ordinary studio.]
[It's a very unfamiliar tune. This should be original. I feel like I wouldn't be at a loss just based on this piece of music. ]
[It’s a pity that it’s a pixel game. 】
The atmosphere on the barrage has improved a lot, Sirin's brows have relaxed, and she has become more confident.
Even if she is a big anchor, if she insists on playing bad games, she will really lose fans and popularity!
Against the backdrop of a pixel-style lighthouse and the moon, Sirin clicked to start the game.
Soon, the view dropped down, and the background of the interface began to merge into the real map. On the silent and deserted mountains, a fairly large villa stood on the edge of the cliff not far from the lighthouse.
In the living room of the villa, there was a little kid sitting in front of the piano. The piano music that enchanted everyone was obviously played by this kid.
"Hiss, this boy has the qualities of a piano master!"
Seeing this, Sirin even made a joke that if the two children could reach such a level at such a young age, they could indeed be called piano geniuses.
[Ah, this tree, this water, this house, this character model, I feel like I have returned to more than ten years ago, that is my childhood that I can never go back to. ]
[This pixel feeling is the memory of the times. 】
[What a pity for the soundtrack. ]
Just as everyone was complaining about the pixelated picture and enjoying the piano music, sudden braking and crashing sounds came from outside the villa.
The piano music stopped abruptly and the child turned around and looked outside.
The vision became dark and soon we arrived at the foot of the mountain. A black car crashed into a tree and white smoke continued to emerge from the raised hood.
"No, how did it crash? Could the car have drifted in?"
As soon as Sirin finished her complaints, she saw two pixelated figures in white coats jumping out of the car.
A man and a woman. The woman's name was Dr. Rosalene. She directly accused the man: "Where were you looking when you were driving, Neil!"
The man's name is Dr. Watts. He said helplessly: "Oh, sorry, I was just trying to avoid that poor squirrel."
"But not only did you run over the poor creature, you crashed the company car into a tree!"
"…Luckily it's a company car, isn't it?"
Then the two people's complaints about the boss made everyone laugh. It seemed that it was quite interesting to abandon other aspects and concentrate on experiencing the plot.
Then, they took a special instrument and walked along the hillside towards the villa in the dark. There were no special obstacles on the way up the mountain, and the difficulty of the game could be said to be basically zero, but listening to the bickering between the two characters did not feel so boring.
As the two walked into the villa, the screen turned black again.
'Act One'
'I've never told anyone this, but... I always thought they were all beacons.'
"Hmm, it feels good~"
As soon as Sirin's voice fell, the screen started again.
"I believe you are Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts. It's great that you came here so soon."
Lily, the maid of the villa, welcomed them.
"These are my two kids, Sarah and Tommy. Since this isn't a 9-to-5 job, John Sr. allowed us to live here together."
This old John should be the employer of the two doctors.
Dr. Watts asked the question, and Lily answered in the affirmative.
"He is receiving treatment upstairs now. Please follow me."
The two doctors exchanged a few words, then followed Lily up to the second floor.
Then, the two children saw that there was no one in the living room, so they went back to the piano together and played the song that intoxicated everyone.
Sirin paid attention to it and thought that this music might be an important foreshadowing of the plot.
Arriving at the bedroom on the second floor, the two doctors finally met their client, old John, who was so old and tortured by time that he could only lie in bed and rest.
"How is he?"
Dr. Watts was setting up the equipment while Dr. Rosalene asked the doctor at the window.
"The situation is very grim. We will have one or two days at most, and it could get worse at any time."
Then the Doctor asked Lily: "So, what is his wish?"
"Moon."
"?Moon?"
"The moon... He wants to go to the moon."
