Chapter 20 I Just...Have to Go
🕑 Added 2025-08-31 14:14:25 +0000 UTC"So, the main plot of this game is that we, as employees of a certain company, come here to fulfill our employer's dying wish through dreams, so that he can die with his eyes closed? This setting is quite interesting."
[Indeed, I won’t criticize you for now, this game does look pretty good. ]
[But isn't this old Deng's wish too outrageous? How can he still be an astronaut at such an old age? ]
【Nowadays, Lao Deng is really getting better and better at playing. 】
[Maybe I miss my grandparents’ jelly, Le.]
The barrage was suddenly filled with happy smiles.
The conversation in the bedroom also gave them a general understanding of the content of the game. According to Lily, Old John was a carpenter and his wife had died two years ago. The desire to go to the moon might be related to his wife, but she was not sure about the details.
Then, Lily suggested that the two doctors could walk around the room and look for clues, and the two children could lead them.
“Classic cow-horse.”
After silently complaining, Sirin found two children and quietly started doing small tasks.
The task was not difficult, and they soon got the key to the basement, which the children called the 'fun room'.
The usual boring puzzles here do not make people feel bored. On the contrary, the quite interesting dialogues always make people smile.
For example, when the children deliberately asked for 10 billion yen for candy, many people laughed and said that the children understood psychology.
In short, after a not-so-long decryption process, Sirin was led by the two children and came to the door of the basement of the villa with the key.
Then, she took the key in her hand and opened the dusty wooden door.
In an instant, the screen was pitch black, with only a glimmer of light at the door where Sirin was standing.
"this......"
Sirin hesitated for a moment. The atmosphere was clearly relaxed just now, so why did the BGM stop at this point?
Then she fumbled to turn on the light.
After seeing the scene in the room clearly, Sirin's pupils suddenly shrank.
"ah!!!!!!"
The whole picture was covered with a layer of dim filter, and large pieces of colorful origami bunnies were scattered on the ground. At the same time, a strange background music slowly sounded, and with a thud, it was like a hammer hitting Sirin's heart.
"Is this a horror game? It scared me!!"
Sirin calmed her pounding heart, her face full of shock. She immediately took out her cell phone, cursing, and wanted to scold Minamiya Yu.
But I soon remembered that I was still live streaming, so I had to endure it for the time being.
She will remember this grudge!
The game still needs to be advanced, so Sirin began to look at the scene in the room.
It is obviously a pixel game, but it is this hazy style that provides more room for imagination and makes the sense of horror even more intense.
Looking at the paper rabbits all over the floor, a crazy and paranoid image quickly emerged in Sirin's mind. The originally relaxed and happy atmosphere also became subtle at this time.
"Is he crazy about going to the moon and keeps folding moon rabbits?"
Relying on talking to herself to suppress the fear in her heart, Sirin pointed to a conspicuous object on a chair.
Soon, a picture of an ugly doll was enlarged on the screen.
'A stuffed platypus'
Doubts piled up more and more. This place was closed off, and it was obviously a place that Old John attached great importance to. However, this strange scene not only failed to explain why he wanted to go to the moon, but also made people more and more confused.
After coming out of the basement, Sirin asked about the two children.
"Paper bunny, we know other places with paper bunnies~"
"In the abandoned lighthouse at the foot of the cliff."
"I have the key, do you want to go check it out?"
“Hehehe~”
The cold piano background music and the two children speaking alternately made the scene look eerie.
Although it was the middle of summer, Sirin tightened her clothes and continued to play with a sullen face.
Led by the two children, Sirin soon saw the lighthouse at the beginning.
It is right under the moon, in the bright moonlight, quietly watching everything around it.
In front of the lighthouse, there is a tombstone standing sideways.
"River Wyles."
This might be the grave of old John's wife, Sirin secretly guessed.
The wish to go to the moon, the wife's grave, the lighthouse, the paper rabbit, and that strange platypus...
The scene before her made Sirin feel that there must be some connection between them, but the lack of the most important clue made it impossible for her to connect these known factors.
It seems that the final answer still needs to be found in old John's dream.
Going up the spiral staircase of the lighthouse, I saw little rabbits scattered all over the ground on the top floor.
However, among the many colorful little rabbits, she found the only one that was made of two colors, with blue limbs and head, and a yellow belly.
After she put away the rabbit, another doctor called.
"Everything is ready, we can go."
......
White light filled the entire screen, and then a picture that looked like a yellowed old newspaper appeared on the screen. This was still old John's bedroom, and a long yellow progress bar appeared above the screen.
The short progress bar contains old John's entire life.
Infants, children, teenagers, young people, middle-aged people, and the elderly.
Each stage has a corresponding image logo.
"This is the furthest point in time we can reach. Turn off all audio except Old John's. Let's go and find a way to implant dreams in Old John."
The two walked through the empty room and soon found a sheet of music on the piano in the living room.
'for river'
'Author: John Wyles'
"Wyles? Isn't that the last name on the grave? It seems that this girl named Rivers old John's wife."
Finding a clue so quickly made Sirin's expression noticeably happy. It was really fun to solve the puzzle bit by bit.
Then, Sirin walked out of the villa and came to the lighthouse that should have special significance. Old John and Lily, the maid of the villa, were there at the moment.
After learning about the purpose of Sirin and the others' visit, Old John was silent, and then he slowly said: "...It seems that my luck is not bad. Can you take me to the moon?"
"We can't, but you can."
"Why do you want to go there?"
asked Dr. Watts, who was controlled by Sirin.
"I have no idea."
"ah?"
Not only Sirin outside the game, but also the barrage was covered with "Huh?"
[Is there something wrong with this old man? I wonder why he wants to go? ]
[I don't understand. How can I do this?]
【humor.】
Especially those viewers who often serve as the second party, felt deeply empathized with the two doctors at this moment. It was their bad luck to meet such clients.
"...You can't say you don't know. You need a motive to go to the moon, right? Fame or money. This is the key to our help."
"I'm sorry, I really don't know."
At this moment, the piano music in the background suddenly became soothing, mixed with the sound of waves hitting the shore, creating a deep and profound atmosphere.
Old John was silent for a moment, then said seriously, "I just...have to go."
