Chapter 33: Don’t catch me, catch the cat!
🕑 Added 2025-08-31 14:21:13 +0000 UTC"Why does the atmosphere feel weird?"
Sirin and Kiana finally finished their fight. One of them covered her red face from being pinched, and the other covered her swollen buttocks, and they limped back.
However, seeing the quiet scene beside the charcoal fire, they were both stunned at the same time.
What’s going on? Wasn’t everyone so lively before the fight? Why is it like this right after we got back?
Rubbing her swollen butt, Kiana frowned and tentatively sat down slowly on the grass. As soon as she touched the ground, she gasped in pain.
They are sisters as expected, they are so cruel.
"Does Peanut hate me? (Did something happen?)"
With her burning cheeks still twitching, Sirin spoke in a somewhat unclear voice.
"No, it's nothing. I'm just a little tired from playing."
Bronya glanced at Minamiya Yu, who looked unnatural, as if unintentionally, and answered casually with a smile.
“I see.”
Neither of them had any doubts. They sat in their own seats and started to fiddle with the barbecue. They didn't even notice Seele who was sitting on the other side with her head down, blushing and not saying a word.
Mei, who had been barbecuing quietly, was a little confused, but she glanced at Bronya, who smiled back at her, then shook her head and decided not to explore the matter further.
The round of meat dishes that Mei had just prepared had been eaten up. She was about to pick up new ingredients, but was stopped by Kiana who volunteered to do so.
"Hey, Mei, go take a rest for a while. Today I'll show you my cooking skills!"
The thin shirt was soaked with sweat and stuck tightly to the skin. As Kiana slapped it carelessly, layer upon layer of waves were created.
Upon hearing this, everyone except Minamiya Yu and Seele instantly showed an expression of horror.
Kiana wants to cook?
What kind of horror is this?!
After having the glorious record of sending two-thirds of the class to the hospital due to food poisoning in a cooking class, everyone agreed to the rule of banning Kiana from entering the kitchen.
"Well, Kiana, I think you should let me do it. You and Sirin just played around, you must be very tired, just sit there and take a good rest."
"I can actually help Mei, Kiana, just take a good rest."
"Even if I wash it, I'll have to change it with Kiana (I'd rather die than eat the food Kiana cooks)!"
With Mei, Bronya and Sirin trying to stop her, Kiana became rebellious and insisted on showing off her skills to everyone.
The three people refused, so Kiana stood in front of the materials and prevented them from taking them. The situation was deadlocked for a while.
Minamiya Yu stretched out his arm and gently poked Seele's slender waist, and immediately saw Seele come back to her senses.
"Brother, brother, what's wrong? Is there something wrong with Seele?"
Although Seele tried hard to remain calm, if you listened carefully, you could still feel that her voice was trembling slightly.
"Nothing, just now..."
He wanted to talk about Kiana, but after hearing this, Seele interrupted him as if she had prepared a script in advance: "No, it's okay, brother. Seele understands. After all, brother has grown up and is no longer a child. It is normal to have such a reaction..."
Taking a deep breath to suppress her inner shyness, Seele widened her eyes and looked at Minamiya Yu boldly: "So, brother, don't be shy. This, this is also because brother likes Seele, Seele, Seele is very happy..."
"......"
Hearing Seele's words that seemed to have summoned up all her courage, Minamiya Yu endured the shame and quickly interrupted Seele's self-explosion: "Actually, this is not what I wanted to say."
"What?"
Seele was stunned, with a trace of confusion in her eyes.
What does this mean?
The blockage in her thinking quickly disappeared, and Seele immediately understood the meaning of Minamiya Yu's words.
Suddenly, her already rosy face gradually turned deep red, and then she no longer dared to look at Minamiya Yu. She simply covered her face with her hands and squatted on the ground, looking like she was autistic and did not want to be disturbed.
However, even though she was so ashamed, Seele still took her brother's words to heart and replied in a weak voice: "Then, what does brother want to ask..."
"Uh... Kiana wants to make barbecue for everyone, why is no one willing to..."
"no!!!"
Suddenly, even Seele, who was in this state, was frightened and stood up. The loud shouting even attracted everyone's attention.
Noticing the five pairs of eyes staring at her, Seele let out a breath that had just been lifted. She walked silently behind Minamiya Yu, laid her whole body on his back, and then whispered weakly, "Yes, you can let Seele do it..."
Maybe the majority overwhelmed the minority, or maybe Seele's words were the last straw that broke the camel's back for Kiana. She said aggrievedly, "You all don't believe me!" Then she stood up and ran to the other side of the yard. Soon, she disappeared from everyone's sight.
There's no way, Mei's backyard is too big, almost like a park.
"Kiana... I'd better go find her."
Mei felt a little uncomfortable with this scene, but when she was about to stand up, she was pulled back by Bronya and Sirin.
"Just let Kiana calm down. Mei, do you really want to eat the food Kiana cooked?"
Bronya said this somewhat helplessly, and Sirin nodded repeatedly.
This kind of thing is nothing new to her. It's just a little temper. Leave her alone for a while and she'll be happy and forget everything.
"...Yeah, alright."
With a soft sigh, Mei sat down again.
Mei continued to grill, and the group ate while chatting.
But when they had almost finished eating, there was still no sign of Kiana coming back, and everyone started to worry again.
"I......"
"I'll go there."
Minamiya Yu stood up and said it first. In this situation, it would be more appropriate for him to go as he was the only one who had not refuted Kiana just now.
"Well, thank you for your help."
Waving to Mei and the others, Minamiya Yu walked in the direction where Kiana left.
I have to say that Mei's yard is really big. After walking for a while, Minamiya Yu heard an unusual noise in front of him and subconsciously quickened his pace.
Soon, he saw a fire clearly rising on the flat ground not far away. Next to the fire, Kiana was lying there with her butt sticking out, seemingly fiddling with something.
"Kiana~"
When she heard her name, Kiana jumped up immediately, covered her butt and limped towards Minamiya Yu with a very happy smile on her face.
"Ah, it's Ayu, come here, I'll show you something good!"
As if she had completely forgotten what had just happened, Kiana grabbed Minamiya Yu's hand without any hesitation and pulled him towards the fire.
Feeling the force of being pulled, Minamiya Yu always felt as if something was wrong. The current Kiana always gave him a feeling of being too excited.
Following her pull to the fire, Minamiya Yu quickly saw everything clearly.
Above the curling flames, strings of mushrooms were being roasted. Before he got close, he could smell a rich and fresh fragrance.
No, that's not the case...
An outrageous idea came to Minamiya Yu's mind. He broke free from Kiana's hand and asked her in confusion, "Where did you get these mushrooms?"
Kiana scratched her head and said casually, "It's in the grove next to us. I just picked some fresh ones. They are colorful and beautiful! Ayu, come and try some!"
"hiss......."
Minamiya Yu's expression became terrified. He hurriedly pulled Kiana to take her back, but she frowned and struggled hard.
"Hey, why are you pulling me?"
"I suspect you've eaten poisonous mushrooms. You should go to the hospital for a checkup."
I didn't expect Kiana to be so strong. Minamiya Yu's sudden action just now made her a little alert, and it was difficult for her to take action now.
"Poisonous mushrooms? Impossible, absolutely impossible. I'm fine now!"
Kiana took another step back cautiously: "You must be like those bad guys, trying to catch me to do my homework. I tell you, it's impossible!"
"No, listen to me, you really..."
"I don't want to hear it!"
"Meow~"
I don’t know if it was attracted by the fragrance, but just when Minamiya Yu and Kiana were in a stalemate, a little wild cat followed the fragrance and came to them, looking at them curiously and meowed.
Minamiya Yu didn't react, but Kiana's expression suddenly became shocked.
"Cat, cat, this cat has become a spirit, it can actually speak human language!!!"
"ah??"
Kiana didn't care to be wary of Minamiya Yu, and quickly dragged him behind her, saying in disbelief: "This is the first time I've seen a cat that has become a spirit. I don't know if it will transform, and if it's dangerous."
"...No, you said this cat is speaking human language?"
"Yeah, didn't you hear it? She just said that it smells so good here. What are you doing?"
"Meow~"
The cat meowed again, which immediately startled Kiana.
She pushed Minamiya Yu to the back and stood between him and the cat. She said nervously, "This cat wants to eat us. Run quickly. I'll stop it for you!"
"......"
Although Minamiya Yu was very moved by this scene, he still dialed the emergency number without hesitation, and at the same time called Mei and others over with his mobile phone.
Not long after, several people sitting in the ambulance looked at Kiana tied up on the bed with complicated expressions.
Even at this time, Kiana kept shouting: "Don't catch me, catch the cat, catch the cat, the cat has become a spirit, why are you catching me, you caught the wrong person!!!"
In the end, it took a shot of sedative to calm Kiana down completely.
