Chapter 443 Acquisition Plan
🕑 Added 2025-09-01 16:47:31 +0000 UTCNanaya's words surprised everyone present.
Generally speaking, when filmmakers are trying to capitalize on political hype, they are often slow to realize it.
That is, the film will be produced after the popularity appears.
This will lead to a lag effect in the film. After all, except for small productions that can be performed by two or three people, the normal production cycle of a film is at least half a year and at most several years.
So by the time the movie is released, it will be a big question whether this popularity will still be there.
Therefore, we often see many movies that try to ride on the popularity of a long time ago and then fail so badly that even your mother won’t recognize them.
This situation will happen. First of all, the popularity is difficult to predict.
After all, no one has the ability to predict the future, and no one knows what the popularity will be next year.
Another reason is that the top executives of film companies are always conservative.
Nanaya knew that in Hollywood, there were many film company executives whose only job every day was to say "No" to countless projects.
Because if he said “Yes”, he would have to pack up and go home if the movie flopped.
Every year, several Hollywood executives are fired by their parent companies because of the failure of a film project.
But Nanaya is different. Although he is not a professional time traveler at all and often brings shame to his predecessors like Long Aotian.
After all, there are really not many time travelers who have suffered kidney deficiency because of women.
But Nanaya still knew about the popularity of Obama.
But Nanaya knowing this doesn’t mean others know it.
So when I shared my thoughts on Captain America, everyone was stunned.
Most people had an expression of "So you can play it like this?"
But if you think about it carefully, everyone feels that what Nanaya said is very likely to come true.
Everyone present was a business person and was not interested in so-called correctness.
But I still have a sense of the changes and trends in the market.
If a black person really ran for president, the possibility of him winning would be quite high.
Not to mention, the other candidate is a woman.
Skin color and gender have always been the correctness that Hollywood emphasizes, and are also what everyone yearns for in the beautiful America.
If the film can take advantage of this popularity, the box office of "Captain America" may even exceed that of "Iron Man".
"I understand. Then let's put Captain America on the agenda first and postpone Thor for now."
Shion nodded and concluded. She ordered Feige, "Kevin, come up with a feasible plan as soon as possible. If we want to catch up with the election next year, we don't have much time."
"No problem, I will give you a detailed plan within 2 weeks."
Feige agreed.
On the other side, Avi Arad had a dejected look on his face, looking like a defeated rooster.
Although Feige's two plans were not completely approved, the fact that one of them was approved doesn't mean that his proposal was not completely rejected?
And what Shion Washimine said just now was that Feige should submit the report to her directly after completing it.
Wouldn't that really make me just a rubber stamp?
[I am old. Has my time passed? ]
Avi Arad rubbed his brows. For the first time, he felt that he was unable to control Marvel.
[No, I can't just give up like this. I was the one who led the Iron Man project, and I was the one who pulled Marvel back from the brink of hell.]
[The junior Feige and the outsider Washimine were not even qualified to enter the venue! ]
Avi Arad clenched his fists and suddenly said, "Since Feige is in charge of the Captain America project, let me be in charge of the Iron Man 2 project."
"Arad, are you sure your body can handle it?"
Shion deliberately pretended to be concerned.
"No problem, let me take the lead on Iron Man 2. Feige still has work to do on The Incredible Hulk, and working on two projects at the same time is already very busy for him. Let's reduce some of the burden on the young people." Avi Arad said with a fake smile, "After all, I am also the current president of Marvel."
"I understand. Thank you for your help."
Shion generously agreed to Avi Arad's proposal.
Nanaya on the side opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but finally closed it.
When the other people present saw the boss speak, they did not express any objection.
"Then let's talk about the next topic." Shion looked at Nanaya, "How is the first half of FZ going? This is our most important project this year."
"Most of the filming and special effects production has been completed, and there are still a few shots that need to be re-shot. Tomorrow Zhi will replace me to go to North America to shoot this part." Nanaya indicated that there was no problem, "After the selection of new Trier members is completed, I will return to North America for the final production. I guarantee that the finished film can be submitted to the MPAA for review in early February, and it will not delay the release of the movie in March."
The first part of FZ was almost completed before the New Year, but Nanaya found a few minor problems during the post-production editing and some reshoots were needed.
Unfortunately, everyone was already on vacation at that time, so Nanaya simply waited until after the New Year.
It is very common to reshoot movies. After all, no one can guarantee that the footage they shot the first time will be enough.
Shion also knew that this was a necessary part of the film production process, so she didn't take it too seriously.
"That's good. Once the movie is finished, the distribution department will fully cooperate with you." Shion said, looking at the director of the distribution department of Washimine Entertainment, "You must hurry up to promote the movie. This is very important for promoting the movie."
"Well, I have already bought the trailer for this year's Super Bowl. After the trailer is released, we will launch a full range of promotions offline and online."
Shion nodded in satisfaction, and she looked at another supervisor: "The peripheral reserves must be sufficient. When FSN and UBW were released before, there was a shortage of peripheral products. I don't want such a problem to happen again this time."
"I see."
The other party heard the warning in Shion's words and nodded in agreement.
"Very good."
Shion concluded, "2006 has passed. 2007 is a crucial year for Washimine Entertainment. If everything goes well, this year will be the best time for us to expand our achievements and become the top second-tier Hollywood company."
Gather strength in 2007, consolidate your position in 2008 and 2009, and try to break into the first-tier market in 2010.
This is what Shion planned.
After all, all companies below the top six are second-tier, and it is not easy to climb to the first-tier.
As Shion finished her concluding remarks, the meeting participants dispersed.
Except for Avi Arad, who looked unhappy because of Feige's provocation, everyone else was in a good mood.
Everyone said goodbye to the people around them while thinking about how to complete their tasks.
Finally, Shion asked Nanaya to stay and planned to have a small meeting with him.
"Nanaya, did you want to say something just now?"
Shion obviously noticed Nanaya's little action.
"Yes. Avi Arad is too confident, but his ideas are outdated. I am really worried that the Iron Man 2 project will be ruined because of his personal relationship." Facing Shion, Nanaya directly expressed his concerns.
"Of course I know, but like he said himself. He is the current president of Marvel, we can't just kick him out completely. Letting him be in charge of Iron Man 2 can also soothe his emotions."
Shion certainly understood Nanaya's concerns, but she also had her own considerations.
"You don't have to worry too much. Iron Man is so successful, so the sequel won't be that bad. At most, it will just not be as successful."
Nanaya didn't know how to tell Shion.
Although the reputation of "Iron Man 2" in his memory was very bad, its commercial performance could be said to be extremely successful.
As for the possible problem of the second episode's declining reputation leading to losses in the third episode, this did not happen due to the perfect performance of "The Avengers".
Moreover, from Nanaya's perspective, the decline in reputation of "Iron Man 2" is mainly due to "Iron Man 1". In terms of the quality of the movie, it is at least better than "Thor".
"I see. Then Iron Man 2 will be handed over to Avi Arad."
Maybe this is also an opportunity.
If Avi Arad really messed up "Honor of Man 2", then Nanaya could take the opportunity to kick this outdated man out.
"That's it for Marvel. Now let's talk about your matter."
The expression on Shion's face turned serious.
"What do you think about this? About what I proposed years ago."
"Are you saying that Washimine fully acquired [Erque Studio]?"
Nanaya gently said what Shion was referring to.
Years ago, Shion proposed the idea of acquiring Erque Studio in full and making it a branch of Washimine Holdings.
As a price, Nanaya's shares in Erque Studio can be exchanged for shares of Washimine Group at a premium.
Yes, it’s not Washimine Entertainment but shares of Washimine Corporation.
In fact, Shion has been thinking about this idea for a long time.
In fact, when Nanaya and Lin Bao separated, Shion thought about directly acquiring [Erque].
It was just that Nanaya was more sensitive because of Lin Bao's incident at that time.
In order to ensure that Nanaya could be won over smoothly, Shion did not do so.
After several years of cooperation, Nanaya no longer has the same wariness as before, so Shion naturally hopes to tie Nanaya to her chariot completely.
It was Disney's acquisition of Pixar at the beginning of last year that gave Shion the inspiration to think about how to make Nanaya feel at ease.
"If you agree, Nanaya will be the second largest individual shareholder of Washimine Group."
Shion's words made Nanaya somewhat moved.
Washimine's largest individual shareholder is Shion, but her shares came from her grandfather.
When the old man retired, he handed over all his shares and power to Shion.
It has to be said that considering the size of Washimine, the way the founding family directly holds shares is quite primitive.
This also has a lot to do with the fact that Washimine is a Japanese company.
If it were in the United States, it would probably be the case that Shion would be held in the form of a company or a fund.
By the way, with Washimine's success in both the gaming and film fields, Shion's net worth has exceeded the 10 billion US dollar mark, making her a true white, rich and beautiful woman.
"So, Nanaya, what do you think about the acquisition?" Shion knew it was time to negotiate terms.
"My thoughts?"
Nanaya became interested. Although his relationship with the big boss was so good that he even slept in the same bed, he had to protect his own interests at this time.
Touching his chin, Nanaya tapped the table lightly with his index finger. "Shion, do you think I have too many shares in Marvel? This is not easy for Washimine to interfere with Marvel management, right? Look, didn't Arad keep asking me for help just now?"
"Oh? What do you mean?"
Shion understood quickly. She guessed what Nanaya wanted to do: "That's true, but the money used to acquire Marvel was taken from the profits of your Fate."
"Yeah, so..."
Nanaya and Shion were chatting casually.
Secretly, the two people slowly reached a consensus.
