Tsunade - Ch 77
🕑 Added 2025-05-07 16:00:25 +0000 UTCChapter 77: Reunion with Mikan
Three minutes passed.
Five minutes passed.
Ten minutes in, Kamizuki Hikari finally raised his head to look at Tsunade.
[What’s with this look? Does Tsunade think I’m so handsome she can’t take her eyes off me?]
[That can’t be it. She’s never looked at me like that before. She’s definitely plotting something!]
Tsunade slowly lifted her gaze, her eyes filled with amusement as she studied Hikari. "What, getting impatient already?"
"No, not at all! I’m just curious—being stared at with such intensity by someone as esteemed as you, Tsunade-sama, makes me feel... truly honored!" Hikari’s sixth sense was ringing alarm bells.
He had a strong feeling he’d just stepped into a trap. And the one who laid it—was right in front of him.
[Tsunade, if you’re lusting after me, just say so. I might as well surrender myself to you at this point!]
Her eye twitched. Tsunade could feel her monstrous strength bubbling under her skin, barely restrained.
This idiot. What kind of nonsense is he thinking!?
Knock! Knock! Knock!
A familiar voice sounded from the other side of the door.
"Tsunade-sama, I heard you were looking for me?"
Thud!
Hikari jumped to his feet so fast he knocked over the chair.
"What’s wrong with you? Such recklessness—how can you ever accomplish anything great?" Tsunade’s gaze sharpened, her tone brooking no argument. "Since we’re about to finish work, you’re coming with me!"
"Ahem! Tsunade-sama, I think I’m feeling a bit under the weather. How about I head home to rest, and you go enjoy yourself? I’ll cover all your food and drinks tonight—deal?"
Mikan = Hikari’s natural nemesis.
Tsunade = Hikari’s natural nemesis.
Mikan + Tsunade = Hikari’s impending doom.
If these two women teamed up, it’d be nothing short of the apocalypse for him.
"Oh? And where exactly do you think you’re going?" Tsunade leisurely rose to her feet, cracking her knuckles with a series of ominous pops. The sound alone was enough to plaster a smile back onto Kamizuki Hikari’s face.
[This woman is terrifying. Someone, please take her home already—spare me from this torture!]
Hypocrite.
Watching Hikari smile while inwardly cursing her, Tsunade mentally added another label to him.
"Mikan, come in."
The door opened, and Mikan stepped inside, dressed in casual attire.
"Tsunade-sama."
Her greeting was polite, her demeanor respectful.
"No need for formalities." Tsunade waved a hand before pointing at Kamizuki Hikari. "Mikan, does this guy look familiar?"
Mikan turned toward the corner. When she saw Hikari, a bright smile instantly appeared on her face.
"Familiar? Oh, extremely familiar. This guy is practically a regular at our hospital, always flirting with the young nurses. If it weren’t for me keeping an eye on him, who knows how many girls he would’ve seduced by now!"
"Hey, hey!" Hikari had initially planned to lay low and avoid provoking her, but since Mikan was the one picking a fight, he wasn’t about to hold back.
"Let’s not twist the facts here. I go to the hospital to study medical ninjutsu. And as for chatting with the lovely ladies—that’s just normal social interaction. Should I act like ‘someone’, scowling at everyone as if they owe me money?"
Respect others, and they will respect you.
But if Mikan wanted to provoke him, then Hikari had no qualms about fighting dirty.
"Nice excuse, but everyone can see what you’re really up to. If I hadn’t been protecting those girls, someone would’ve already put a bounty on your head and broken your third leg!"
"Why would anyone put a bounty on me? Mikan, are you just jealous because I get along with the younger nurses? Is that why you’re slandering me like this?"
"You—!"
"Me what?!" Hikari pressed on mercilessly. "Seems to me you’re just bitter because you can’t get married yourself, so you don’t want anyone else to either. If it weren’t for you meddling, I’d probably have a whole harem by now!"
"You bastard!" Mikan snapped at the mention of marriage.
Honestly, aside from being a little older, Mikan had a good figure and looked fine. But she was way too fierce, especially when dealing with Hikari.
And now his words had clearly hit a nerve.
"Heh, Hikari, you think you’re being funny, huh?" Tsunade, who’d been watching from the side, suddenly cut in.
The moment she spoke, Kamizuki Hikari’s heart sank.
[Crap... I got so caught up arguing with Mikan, I forgot there’s another single lady in the room...]
"You’re dead!"
The last thread of Tsunade’s patience snapped. Her foot slammed into the ground as she launched herself at Hikari, her fist cutting through the air with enough force to create a shockwave.
[What a terrifying punch!]
Admiring the sheer power for a split second, Hikari darted forward, his right hand shooting out like lightning to grab Tsunade’s wrist while his left palm tapped her waist.
A tingling numbness rippled through her body, dispersing all the power behind her punch. The mighty blow became nothing more than a soft clap.
"What kind of technique was that?!" Tsunade yanked her hand back, retreating a step as she stared at Hikari in astonishment.
His speed had been fast enough to catch her off guard, and his grip strength—while not quite matching hers—was nothing to scoff at.
That final strike, though... it almost resembled the Hyūga clan’s Gentle Fist.
"An improved version of the Ranshinshō. You know, the one that disrupts chakra flow?"
The original Ranshinshō (Body Pathway Derangement) used a burst of chakra to scramble the target’s chakra network—usually to break genjutsu.
But Hikari’s version could disrupt an enemy’s chakra output, making it especially dangerous. Tsunade’s monstrous strength came from chakra-enhanced blows—disrupt that, and she’s only slightly stronger than a regular person.
"Explain the principles to me later. I’ll see if it’s worth adding to the Scroll of Seals."
"That’s my secret technique! I was gonna make it my family heirloom!" Hikari’s excuses flowed as smoothly as ever.
Tsunade’s lips curled into a smirk as she shot him a knowing look before turning to leave with Mikan.
"Make sure you lock up the office. Don’t let anyone steal our confidential documents!"
[What is this woman up to? She seriously wants my jutsu?]
[I mean, sure, it’s not that valuable to me... but just handing it over to the village feels like a scam.]
Quietly closing the door, Hikari followed after Tsunade and Mikan.
Those who come are not well-intentioned, and those who are well-intentioned do not come.
Since Tsunade clearly had something planned, he’d rather take initiative and see what her game was. That way, he might find a way to counter it.
But why bring Mikan along? Was this some nostalgic reunion for the Senju clan?
Listening to the two women laughing ahead, Hikari scoffed.
Never try to guess a woman’s thoughts. No matter how hard you try, you’ll never figure them out.
[Fine then. Water comes, I’ll build a dam. Soldiers come, I’ll raise my blade. Let’s see what kind of trap Tsunade has cooked up for me today!]
