I liked Poor Things but I didn’t think it was about empowerment. And I don’t know why it would have to be. I feel like because it’s about sex and a woman is the main character it has to be. And that’s bad. It can’t just be uncomfortable to comment on sexuality or morally ambiguous to make you think about sexuality. It doesn’t have to be a good thing with a clearly good message and I think that’s necessary sometimes? I dunno. I think women need more media about literally everything other than female empowerment.
