Turns out I didn't have all that much to say about La Palma and Cumbre Vieja potentially erupting and destroying the US East Coast. That's because the body of literature looking at it is pretty deadset against the conclusions made in the Ward & Day paper that put this idea into the collective conscience back in 2001
Sorry in advance for subpar audio on this one. I use Nvidia RTX to help reduce background noise as recording and its producing a glitching effect I can't find a reliable workaround for. Gonna start exploring other audio processing options I thinks

Okay, so my childhood fears can basically be boiled down to 3 discovery documentaries on the "Supervolcano" Yellowstone, a mega-tsunami from the Canary Islands, and both mega-tsunami and earthquake (what's the non-scientific name for a big earthquake? Super and mega are taken so... Venti?) along the Oregon coast. I live in Oregon. Not on the coast but like... I go there often and once literally couldn't sleep one night while on a trip there because of my fears of the Cascadia earthquake and subsequent devastating tsunami. So you've helped dissuade two of the three fears that were generated all those years ago when my parents seemed unconcerned about their child watching existential crisis-creating "documentaries." Now if only the one that could actually kill me could be debunked XD
