The funny thing is, the only thing wrong with Comic Sans is that it got overused. I do like the (highly characteristic) way Jeph reminds us that Faye was an art major--she probably took a semester-long typography class. I'm sort of surprised she isn't insisting on designing the logo herself, actually.

You could go for U.S. Robotics if you wanted a real life reference. They are amazingly still going.

There was a font called "Sand" that was included with Apple Macintoshes in the 90s. It was the Mac equivalent of Comic Sans---people would use it as their go-to lighthearted font because all the other fonts were serious and professional. Sand was even worse than Comic Sans, though.
