Yes. I think the earliest thing is 234. with Pintsize and some other robot, whom Pintsize tought to be female. Then sometimes robots IRC'd, Pintsize, Momo, PT410X, maybe Winslow too.

They both seem to have updated emojis as they updated/changed chassis. Much like one would update a profile picture, I suppose.

Yeah, but it takes away the option of throwing a phone out the window in frustration. Though granted, that's no longer a non-costly option for me after I retired my faithful Nokia 1100 for a smartphone.

Fun fact: the reason humans are so smart is that we were pushed by evolutionary pressure to get good at modeling each others' mental states and understanding the state of the social whole. The ability to think together is our evolutionary superpower. So the idea that AIs would do this kind of modeling actually makes sense—it may be what woke them up.

Of course robots yell by using all caps.

'Roomba' is a brand of autonomous robot vacuum cleaner; it's got only the simplest pseudo-AI control software. Basically, May found an elaborate way to call Momo stupid.
