Her mother was actually the first person to call her Taffy, I'm thinking that Hanners has been so distracted and Tilly only corrects her in the smallest of voices and so she has not caught on yet (and the first name she heard sticks)... but what can one do.

My theory continues to be that Hanners is intentionally getting her name wrong in order to avoid becoming attached in case killing her is the only way to get rid of her. In my headcanon, she thought of Marten as "Mike" for several months before introducing herself.

I don't see that... in fact it looks like Hanners is morphing into "Jughead". I guess (hope!) it's ONLY JUST A PHASE...
