So, Sam was holding the phone in her left hand in the third panel, and then is using her left hand to point at the saw in the fourth panel -- but there is no phone. I don't suppose she got so excited that she dropped the phone between panels 3 & 4? ;)

Somehow, I imagine that it was Sam's Dad who made that specification, and Faye was simply assuring him that yes, that would be the case.

Simply turning off the auditory sensors would not protect them from high sound pressures. Even inactive, the sensors could still suffer damage, so hearing protection is still advised.

In Rescue work they're referred to as "K saws" or "quick cuts" based on brand names from Sthil and other manufacturers. They can cut concrete, but are also used commonly as roof saws in firefighting and I've put them to use in structural rescue training. They are awesome, and versatile. And Bubs deserves her own saw.
